Came across this movie after diving into Indie movies recently. I was impressed by the cinematography and acting, the writing was funny but slow at times. It can't be hard to set up a whole movie in one location, though. I ended up googling "one-location" movies after watching this one and loved some as much as this one.
The review on Critical Popcorn pretty much nails it. This is a smart, well thought out and extremely well acted film. Kudos to Savante, Withers and Emery for taking chances on a low budget independent film. The writer/director deserves credit for being brave enough to write something that we don't see much of anymore. A provocative, funny, extremely clever, artsy, dark comedy. Avalanche surprised and entertained me.
This film totally cheered up my Thursday night! I think this film would make a great sitcom. Fun indie film recommended!
An impressive blend of ridiculous comedy and melancholy. Indie comedy's are so hard to Pull off but if you're up for a quirky, off the wall and oddly endearing film then this is a decent choice, funny script, good performances and loved how the gags seem to overstay they're welcome at times, making it so much funnier.
I went into this one completely out of the blue - not knowing a thing about it, and found a movie that looks at infidelity in a way that I hadn't seen before. Production values are solid, as is the acting, especially by the husband/librarian character. Some character motivations and flashbacks could have been clearer, which I think would have helped the overall narrative and clarified character motivation. Also, I found some of the score to be a tad irritating in spots (intentional, perhaps?), but I enjoyed watching Avalanche unfold.
