Demi Moore has been making a comeback of the ages, with her performance in the body horror hit, The Substance, earning her multiple awards, including a Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actress. But The Substance isn't the only recent body horror film she has starred in. In 2019, she appeared in another thriller, Corporate Animals, and it's currently available on horror streamer, Shudder.
The movie follows an abusive, egomaniac CEO named Lucy (Moore) as she leads employees from her company, Incredible Edibles, on a team-building exercise to try and save the business. The co-workers go spelunking in New Mexico, with Lucy deciding they need to on a much more advanced route, against the better judgment of the guide, Brandon (Ed Helms). What follows is a bizarre attempt at lampooning corporate culture that descends into cannibalism and chaos, plus an utterly bizarre dream sequence with Helms and co-star...

Back in 2014, writer/director Patrick Brice and co-writer/star Mark Duplass teamed up with Blumhouse Productions to bring us the found footage horror film Creep – which was so well-received that a sequel, appropriately titled Creep 2, followed in 2017. Before Creep 2 was even released, Brice confirmed that a third film was in development and was meant to wrap everything up as a trilogy – but along the way, the plan changed from making another feature to making a TV series called The Creep Tapes. The six-episode series made its premiere on the Shudder and AMC+ streaming services back in November, becoming “the most watched Shudder show of all time on AMC+ and the strongest November release in Shudder history, driving record subscriber growth and social media engagement.” But Shudder and AMC+ aren’t the only places this one is going to be available. The Creep Tapes will be receiving a Blu-ray...

Mark Duplass will return to creep all of us out in more episodes of the found-footage horror series The Creep Tapes from Shudder.
1428 Elm has learned that the show—which became the most-watched series of all time on Shudder and AMC+—is set to continue with a six-episode season 2. Duplass will return as executive producer and writer alongside his Creep co-creator Patrick Brice.
An episodic expansion of the two films Creep and Creep 2, The Creep Tapes consisted of six new "tapes" from Peachfuzz, and in each one, he claims a new victim. In even better news, fans won't have to wait very long for the next season, as Shudder and AMC Networks will release it later this year.
The second season will "continue to unravel the mind of this secluded serial killer (Duplass) who lures videographers into his world with the promise of a paid job documenting his life.

With an affinity for improv and offbeat characters, Jay and Mark Duplass have embraced the indie movie and TV landscape since the founding of their independent production company, Duplass Brothers Productions, in 1996. Often associated with the low-budget mumblecore movement of the early-2000s, offering movies like The Puffy Chair and Cyrus, the filmmaking duo has certainly experimented with genres over the past three decades. Notably, Mark Duplass — who's in front of the camera as often as he is behind it — creeped his way into the hearts of horror aficionados back in 2014 with Netflix's hit found footage film Creep.
Directed by Patrick Brice and produced by Duplass Brothers Productions and Blumhouse Productions, Creep follows a freelance videographer, Aaron — played by Brice himself — who answers a bizarre online ad from a man named Josef, played by Mark Duplass. Claiming to have terminal cancer, Josef wishes to make a documentary film for his unborn child.

November wound up covering a lot of ground. We dipped a toe into pre-Code territory with Albert Ray’s 1932 title The Thirteenth Guest (listen), stayed at “Aaron’s” cabin in Creep 2 (listen), and got our hair done with Jill Gevargizian’s 2020 film The Stylist (listen).
Now we’re talking about gay screenwriter Devon Graye and director Adam Randall‘s under seen and under rated thriller I See You (2019).
In the film, police detective Greg (Jon Tenney) is struggling with his wife Jackie (Helen Hunt)’s infidelity as he works a new case with partner Spitzky (Gregory Alan Williams). The case is a child abduction that bears a striking similarity to events from 15 years ago. As Greg and Jackie’s teenage son Conor (Judah Lewis) blames his mother, strange events begin occurring around the house.

With “Get Ready with Me” videos now all the rage on social media platforms like TikTok and YouTube, Mark Duplass is getting in on the action with his beloved serial killer character Josef from “The Creep Tapes.” Based on the found footage horror films “Creep” and “Creep 2,” Duplass and co-creator/director Patrick Brice reinvent their cult classic for a half-hour series streaming on Shudder and AMC+ called “The Creep Tapes.”
Each episode follows Josef as he lures in a new victim to film him as he works towards their slaying. The series premiered at Fantastic Fest this year in September, followed by a streaming debut on November 15. He’s baaaack. Indie filmmaker and actor Mark Duplass has returned as eccentric serial killer Josef from the found-footage horror films “Creep” and “Creep 2,” but now he’s bringing the terror to TV. Now streaming on Shudder and AMC+, “The Creep Tapes” follows Josef’s continued exploits with each episode featuring a different victim. In shifting the narrative to 25 minute installments, Duplass found inspiration in making his anthology series “Room 104” for HBO or observing classic sitcoms.
“I wanted ‘The Creep Tapes’ to feel, as crazy as it sounds, the way I felt with my family during the pandemic when we binge-watched ‘Friends’ and ‘Seinfeld.’ There’s a cold open, and the credit sequence hits, and we just feel comfortable,” said Duplass in a recent interview with The New York Times. “This is going to be a comfort show, weirdly, for people who love this character. It’s the comfort of discomfort.

The co-creator and star of a Blumhouse found footage franchise explains why they made the jump from Netflix to Shudder. Although it's primarily known for its movie offerings, which run the gamut from Happy Death Day to Get Out, Blumhouse has had several television series with varying levels of success. Some of their more notable projects in recent years include the horror anthology Into the Dark and Prime Video's The Horror of Dolores Roach.
The production company made its mark, however, with the 2009 found footage horror Paranormal Activity. Directed by Oren Peli, and continuing in the form of several sequels, Paranormal Activity helped to propel found footage horrors as a way of telling familiar stories through a fresh lens and subverting expectations. Another mini-franchise, which has made the jump to television, would follow a few years later.

After wrapping October with Robert Zemeckis’ hilarious dark comedy Death Becomes Her (listen), we kicked off November with a look back at Wes Craven’s classic slasher A Nightmare on Elm Street (listen), followed by Albert Ray’s pre-Code 1932 “classic” The Thirteenth Guest (listen).
In honor of Patrick Brice and Mark Duplass re-teaming for Shudder’s The Creep Tapes (review), we’ve decided to revisit the better-than-the-original sequel Creep 2.
In the film, after dispatching new “friend” Dave (Karan Soni), Aaron (Duplass) sets his sights on flailing YouTube personality Sara (Desiree Akhavan). After trying all of the same tricks as the first film, however, Aaron finds that Sara is unflappable: she’s not bothered by his pranks and jump scares and seems more than willing to match his freak in every conceivable way
As the battle of wills escalates, it soon becomes clear that these two may just be made for each other.

The Creep Tapes not only marks the return of the Creep movies' titular serial killer but also adds new characters to the mix who serve as catalysts for exploring the franchise's comically unsettling world and stories. Made on a shoestring budget of $500, the first Creep movie garnered immense critical acclaim after its release in 2014 and still boasts an impressive Rotten Tomatoes score of 91%. For obvious reasons, the movie's success spawned a sequel, which premiered in 2017. Unlike most sequels, Creep 2 performed even better than its predecessor, boasting a perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Although Creep 3 was reportedly in development after the second movie's success, creative challenges held its filmmakers back from bringing it to life. However, instead of creating Creep 3, they have now made a spin-off/prequel miniseries, which unfolds partly as an anthology. With each new episode, it shows how the franchise's central killer targets and murders new victims.

Warning: The following contains spoilers for the Creep franchise.
Nothing in the world of film and TV excites horror academics like the meta-slasher. This curious subgenre emerged in the ’90s as a response to the slasher boom of the previous decade and involves skewering standard tropes with characters and scripts well aware of the films that have come before. Wes Craven’s 1996 masterpiece Scream opens with the killer quizzing his victim about classic slasher franchises and Drew Goddard’s The Cabin in the Woods concludes with a Director entering the scene to explain the archetypes each doomed character fulfills. Meta-slashers play with our expectations by blatantly giving characters the tools to survive then daring them to follow through with the knowledge they’ve accrued. They are ingenious twists on a beloved cinematic formula and a way to build upon the lore we’ve come to expect.

While Marie tries to figure out the identity of the mysteriously absent thirteenth guest, a psychopath has started killing off the other attendees of that fated dinner party, with the dead bodies being left at the table in the same seats they had originally occupied all those years ago.

Peachfuzz is back in The Creep Tapes. Writer-actor Mark Duplass and writer-director Patrick Brice chatted with Bloody Disgusting about the unlikely found footage franchise’s trajectory from Creep to the new series.
“It’s really kind of a special one for me,” says Duplass. “I always hear this fun lore about, like, bands who just started jamming together casually and then it turned into this amazing thing, or like Mike Leigh will be talking with his friends and then all of a sudden this movie comes out of it.
“My art always felt very painstaking and structured how it was made. But Creep was the only project that just kind of fell out of our pockets,” he explains.

Following the success of their cult films, “Creep” and “Creep 2,” Mark Duplass and Patrick Brice have returned to the franchise for a third installment — this time for television — in Shudder/AMC+’s six-episode series, “The Creep Tapes.” The show, which stars Duplass and is directed by Brice, examines six tapes from serial killer Peachfuzz’s (Duplass) previous kills. While “The Creep Tapes” relies on the rawness of the found-footage technique, the rapidly-paced episodes lack the predatory undertone that makes the movies so unnerving. Instead, the series is comprised of dull fragments, acting more as a disjointed vanity project than a horror story spotlighting a homicidal maniac’s bloodlust.
The show follows the same structure as the “Creep” movies. In Episode 1, “Mike,” Peachfuzz lures a filmmaker named Mike (Mike Luciano) to a cabin in the woods, promising to pay him $1,000 to film his acting school audition. Mike gets an eerie...

Two of the more bizarre found footage movies ever made, Creep and Creep 2, forced audiences to live in tense dramatic irony. At no point in either movie did Mark Duplass appear even marginally coherent, yet his victims numbered in the dozens. Taking a step back into the lore of “Peachfuzz,” Duplass returns to the role with a six-part TV series for Shudder – aptly titled The Creep Tapes. Across the episodes, Duplass gets to flex his acting chops, allowing his serial murderer to take even stranger swings. Horror fans will delight in the late-year show, while those outside the fandom may struggle to connect.

“The Creep Tapes,” a six-episode series, adds a new, twisted chapter to the scary world that was first presented in the cult-favourite found-footage movies “Creep” and “Creep 2.” This Shudder and AMC+ release, which came from the minds of Mark Duplass and Patrick Brice, is a bold new direction for a horror series that has been popular for almost ten years.
What started as a possible third movie became a collection series that promises to learn more about the mind of one of the strangest serial killers in modern horror. Duplass is back in the part that has become famous for him, playing the character now associated with awkward, skin-crawling tension and dark humour. The series takes a more open look at the killer’s world than the original movies, which were more private and suffocating.
When it premieres on November 15, “The Creep Tapes” takes viewers on a trip through separate episodes.

The Creep Tapes: Mark Duplass Returns As Peachfuzz In First Trailer For Found-Footage Shudder Series
Just in case you're unfamiliar with Creep and its underrated 2017 sequel, the blackly funny found-footage horror movies focus on an unnamed serial killer and his werewolf alter-ego, Peachfuzz, befriending unwitting victims and ultimately dispatching them after some increasingly bizarre and unhinged behaviour.
Now, Shudder has released the first trailer for The Creep Tapes, which features the return of Mark Duplass as the disarmingly affable but deranged murderer.

The new Shudder Original series The Creep Tapes releases its first trailer. It continues the found footage horror franchise Creep with a 6-episode anthology following the story of the series prolific serial killer (Mark Duplass), who hires his victims to film his life under horrifically false pretenses. From the minds of the Duplass brothers' production company and writer Patrick Brice, the Creep franchise began in 2014 with a struggling videographer, Aaron, accepting an innocuous Craigslist ad. What ensues is a darkly funny and gradually deranged time with Duplass as the films main antagonist.
Brice and Duplass continue their depiction of the quirky but deeply disturbed horror villain with their new series. Premiering November 15 on AMC+ and Shudder, The Creep Tapes continues the antics of the serial killer with 6 new tapes each named after the episode's chosen victim. You can watch the trailer for The Creep Tapes here:

The Creep Tapes Trailer: Mark Duplass’ Serial Killer Is Back In New Six-Tape Horror Anthology Series
What time is it? Tubby time! That's right folks — after seven years away, Mark Duplass' sadistic serial killer and his alter ego Peachfuzz are back. Spinning off from Patrick Brice's 2014 found footage horror Creep and its underrated 2017 follow-up Creep 2 — both of which followed Duplass' unnamed psychopathic murderer as he used Craigslist ads to lure unsuspecting victims to his isolated home — The Creep Tapes is a six-part anthology horror series set to reveal more of the wolf-mask wearing killer's gruesome home videos. Check out the trailer below:
"I want to be 100% honest with you about something," says Duplass in a classic Creep style self-tape, "I can get a little... in the moment." And to pay him his dues, he ain't lying — if of course by "in the moment" we mean dressing up as various oddball characters, luring unsuspecting videographers to your home for a grand, and then toying with them before brutally,...

Mark Duplass and Patrick Brice revisit the Creep franchise with the first series addition, The Creep Tapes. The six-episode horror series misses the Halloween window by a few weeks, premiering on November 15, 2024 on AMC+ and Shudder.
“A little over 10 years ago, Patrick Brice and I spent a week together in my cabin with a small digital camera. We emerged with a found footage horror film that was so wildly strange and uncomfortable we assumed no one would see it,” said Duplass. “To be continuing this unholy legacy in the series format is a true nightmare come true.”
Duplass stars in the series and serves as a writer and executive producer. Brice writes, executive produces, and directs all six episodes.
“The Creep Tapes continues to unravel the mind of a secluded serial killer who lures videographers into his world with the promise of a paid job documenting his life,” reads Shudder’s synopsis.

The six-episode series is set to premiere on the Shudder and AMC+ streaming services on November 15th, and we’ve heard that the series will launch with a two-episode premiere, followed by new episodes releasing weekly on Fridays on both platforms. With the premiere date one month away, a trailer for The Creep Tapes has arrived online and can be viewed in the embed above.

One decade ago, Patrick Brice and Mark Duplass teamed up to deliver Creep, an insanely unnerving and boundary-pushing horror feature. The bizarre found-footage horror flick quickly gained a cult-following and found popularity among critics, currently sitting on Rotten Tomatoes with a 91% approval rating. Jumping on the films success, Brice and Duplass set out to create a sequel, Creep 2, which would arrive just a few years later in 2017. While its been a quiet few years since then, the duo is back and has more for fans than ever before, as The Creep Tapes TV miniseries is officially set for its November 15 release on Shudder and AMC+. Today, Collider is thrilled to share the exclusive first look at the shows trailer, which teases an anthology storyline with plenty of unstable smiles and even a glance or two at Peach Fuzz.

Creep and its sequel, Creep 2, introduced an offbeat, darkly funny and deeply weird serial killer who preyed upon videographers, documenting the awkward social dance leading up to their unwitting murder. Co-writer/Director Patrick Brice and co-writer/star Mark Duplass created a memorable new horror villain, one that initially disarmed with boyish charms before ramping up the discomfort with excruciating encounters involving Tubby Time and Peachfuzz. Brice, Duplass, and Peachfuzz are back in Shudder’s upcoming series “The Creep Tapes,” continuing the serial killer escapades in anthology format. Of the three (of six) episodes that premiered at Fantastic Fest, it’s safe to say that not only is Peachfuzz back with renewed vigor, but Duplass’s serial killer character is weirder than ever.

Recently, Mark Duplass announced the long-awaited threequel to the found footage series Creep, in which he plays a serial killer who tricks people into recording their own murders. However, instead of a new feature film, fans will get a six-part TV miniseries with each episode featuring a fresh victim. It drops on AMC+ and Shudder on November 15, making now the perfect time to revisit the original movies.
Duplass is best known for comedic dramas where dysfunctional adults confront their often-embarrassing relationship issues. With Creep, he and co-creator Patrick Brice have brilliantly converted this content into horror stories about a murderer who weaponizes emotional vulnerability and "therapy-speak" to shame his unwitting victims into sticking around long enough to get killed. Creep and Creep 2 take two very different approaches to this setup, and it will be exciting to see how their experiment continues in the new series.

Mark Duplass has always been at the forefront of the independent film movement. Whether it’s acting, directing, writing, or producing, Duplass does his best to keep things simple and not be beholden to anyone. While speaking with IndieWire’s Vincent Perella on the Emmys red carpet, the “Morning Show” nominee shared how he’s trying to bring the ethos of indie film projects like “Creep” and “Creep 2” into television with his upcoming TV series “Penelope,” as well his upcoming collaboration with Shudder, “The Creep Tapes.” If anyone can make indie TV have a true renaissance, it’s Duplass.

Although Mark Duplass' initial comments about Creep 3 raised doubts surrounding the film franchise's future, Creep 2 is finally getting a follow-up show titled The Creep Tales. The Creep Tapes will explore Peachfuzz's murders in half-hour episodes, possibly shedding light on events post-Creep 2's cliffhanger ending.
I was looking forward to the follow-up to this 100% Rotten Tomatoes horror movie, and after years of doubt, I am glad it is finally happening. Since horror movie follow-ups do not always live up to the standards set by their predecessors, I always find myself questioning whether a critically successful horror flick has enough scope for franchise expansion. While some horror follow-ups like James Cameron's Aliens and Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead's The Endless have perfectly expanded their original film's stories, others like Hellraiser: Revelations and Halloween: Resurrection have only worsened my concerns surrounding sequels.

The Creep Tapes offers more creative possibilities than a third Creep movie. Each episode will focus on a new victim, showcasing the "creep's" crimes. The show can be more terrifying and avoids feeling repetitive like a third movie.
The Creep movies will expand now on TV, which is a much better alternative than a third movie. Found footage is one of the most popular branches of the horror genre, and in 2017, writer and director Patrick Brice gave it a twist in Creep. The Creep Tapes is a TV adaptation of Mark Duplass and Patrick Brice’s own indie horror films, Creep and Creep 2. It’s heading to Netflix soon.
Actor and filmmaker Mark Duplass has made a TV series based on his own Creep horror films, and it’s coming soon to Netflix. Called The Creep Tapes, it’ll expand on the films’ found footage premise and continue their likeably awkward, blackly comic tone.
Released in 2014 and 2017 respectively, Creep and Creep 2 were both about filmmakers and their interactions with a decidedly eccentric character (played by an unblinking Duplass). To say too much more would risk spoiling things; we’ll simply add that, if you haven’t seen them yet, they’re well worth seeking out.
The Creep Tapes’ official description also assumes you’ve seen those earlier movies, so click the back button now if you don’t want to read potential spoilers.

The Creep Tapes stars Duplass and is written and created by Duplass and the director of the original films, Patrick Brice, who also directed all episodes of the series. Chris Donlon is both editor and EP on the project.
Per Duplass, “the series is based on a collection of video tapes in the secret vault of the world’s deadliest and most socially uncomfortable serial killer, who hires his victims to film him for the day under false pretenses.

Filmmaker Mark Duplass is returning to the horror genre with a new foray into the disturbing Creep universe he created with collaborator Patrick Brice, beginning with the 2014 found-footage film. Brice and Duplass followed up with their 2017 movie Creep 2, and fans have been waiting ever since for the next chapter in the story of Duplass' on-screen serial killer persona.
Now, we finally have an update! On June 4, over six years after Creep 2, Duplass took to his social media accounts to share a cryptic teaser showing him donning the "Peachfuzz" wolf mask frequently worn by his nameless character.

“Creep” is creeping back.
Duplass Brothers Productions has completed filming “The Creep Tapes,” a TV series based on the Netflix films “Creep” (2014) and “Creep 2” (2017). The project was independently produced without a distributor attached; CAA is now handling world sales.
Per the official description, “the series is based on a collection of video tapes in the secret vault of the world’s deadliest and most socially uncomfortable serial killer, who hires his victims to film him for the day under false pretenses. Each episode exposes a new victim from one of the fabled ‘Creep Tapes.’”
Mark Duplass co-wrote the original films along with Patrick Brice, who served as director. On “The Creep Tapes,” Duplass and Brice serve as co-creators with Brice directing all episodes. Chris Donlon serves as editor and executive producer, with Duplass, Jay Duplass and Mel Eslyn producing.

Back in 2014, writer/director Patrick Brice and co-writer/star Mark Duplass teamed up with Blumhouse Productions to bring us the found footage horror film Creep – which was so well-received that a sequel, appropriately titled Creep 2, followed in 2017. Before Creep 2 was even released, Brice confirmed that a third film was in development and was meant to wrap everything up as a trilogy. Seven years have gone by and we haven’t heard much more about Creep 3 – but IndieWire has just broken the news that the Creep franchise is set to continue with a TV series called The Creep Tapes!
Created by Brice and Duplass, the first season of The Creep Tapes has already made it through production. Now it’s being shopped around to potential buyers.
Duplass provided the following statement: “The series is based on a collection of video tapes in the secret vault of the world...
