Be it Lonesome Dove, Hatfields & McCoys, 1883, or Into the West, there is a lot of history left to uncover. Speaking about how he spent those fallow years, he said: “I had a horse for a while there. He’s not with us anymore, I’m sad to say. He’s in horsey heaven. He saved… not my life, but he certainly saved an emotional part of me.”

Fraser explained that Pecas had been one of the horses that featured in 2015 miniseries “Texas Rising” and after the shoot ended Fraser adopted him. “I put him on FedEx. I flew him through El Paso. Brendan Fraser on Why Darren Aronofsky Really Cast Him in ‘The Whale’ and “Brenaissance” Memes
Image
Hollywood legend already has it Darren Aronofsky took ten years to find an actor to play a 600 lb man in The Whale, before setting his sights on Brendan Fraser.

But Fraser, during an informal conversation at the Red Sea Film Festival on Sunday, revealed the real reason Aranofsky cast him in the Oscar-winning role of Charlie. “He was looking for an actor who hadn’t been seen in a while. He told me. And that was me. He wanted to reintroduce that actor through a performance that would be transformative and have an element of this is the last person you might expect to do this role,” Fraser recalled.

And that was all fine for Fraser, who added he’s quite happy with the “Brenaissance” memes to underscore one of Hollywood’s most memorable career comebacks. “Yes, look at me,” he said from the stage of Old Town Al-Balad in Jeddah,...

Several of these shows constructed expansive worlds and introduced exciting and unique characters with the potential for growth over multiple seasons. The best Western TV shows thrive on gradual, paced storytelling, enabling exploration of frontier life, moral ambiguity, and deep character development. How well do fact-based limited and anthology series perform at the Emmys? (Spoiler alert: very well)
Image
Just as limited and anthology series based on real events have taken over the TV landscape, they have taken over the Emmys. But how well have programs of this particular genre actually gone over with the academy throughout the past few years?

Let’s take a look back at all nominations earned by limited and anthology series starting in 2015; that’s the year in which the rules were tweaked to require that a program can only compete as a limited series if it has a minimum of two episodes with a total running time of at least 150 minutes, tells a complete, non-recurring story, and doesn’t have an ongoing storyline and/or main characters in subsequent seasons.

This rule change came just a year after limited series (referred to as “miniseries” at the time) and TV movies were once again split up into separate program categories, undoing a three-year-old change that consolidated the two awards.
