THE GIRLIES WANT MORE GOOD GUY JEFFERS ROLES PLEASE 🙏
Okay now that I got that out of the way, let me start by thanking AppShorts for first of all assembling this amazing cast, but also for all the behind the scenes, trailers, and love that has been given to this series! This is how an app should behave when they have talent like this starring for them and a series this good being released! Every other platform should be taking notes.
This series follows the life of Emily Carter, a professional "matchmaker" to the wealthy! Despite her talent for finding others love, she is stuck in a toxic relationship with an abusive, cheating, and arrogant man who uses her for her money and is cheating on her with their landlady. Meeting Ethan unexpectedly on the street only to find out he is her newest client - a kind man who shows her the love, respect, and care she deserves. But how will Mark (her current partner) handle Emily finding someone who actually treats her right?
If you go to the AppShorts Instagram page you can find an excellent breakdown of the 4 main characters in this series!
Firstly, Mark Pontarelli as a bad guy, still somehow makes me laugh out loud on my train rides to work, or while sitting at my desk. The lettuce scene absolutely killed me I laughed so much I had to go back 3 times and watch it because I couldn't help myself and kept missing dialogue. His "secret" relationship with Rachel (Paulina Rezende) also had me giggling especially during Marks entrance in Episode 20 and her beating him up with a pillow!
The chemistry between Emily (Kirby Ellwood) and Ethan (Jeff Violette) is insurmountable in this series, I loved how they continuously made each other laugh and brought joy to one another through the trials they were facing as individuals.
It has been said a bit but Episode 6 was another one that very nearly gave me away to my colleagues I was wheezing at my desk and receiving very strange looks from my coworkers... lets just say... Miss Sunshine Pageant 1964, babe you're still a knockout in my books but please leave your teeth in at the diner!!
All in all I loved this series, I am so glad it got the promotion by the app it deserved. I also want to just say I am glad that despite them portraying a violent and abusive relationship I am so grateful the abuse Emily receives is not to the extent we have witnessed in some other series.
For me it's 10/10 and I think you should RUN not walk to watch this one!
