I have to start this one off with a huge thank you to Jen (VerticalDramaLove on Instagram) for forcing me to continue on with this one after episode 2/first half of episode 3. I am at the point where I can no longer handle the constant violence towards women and the "damsel" who cannot stand up for herself but is constantly beaten in all these short series'
All that to say, I was very happy to see not only our lovely lead Grace learn to face her inner (and outer) demons but also some badass self-defence moves from her bodyguard Jack.
Violet Bennett was MADE for roles like this one, LOVED her in "After Cancer I Turn into a Badass" and she did not disappoint in the slightest with her portrayal of Grace. We need more boss-bitch women vertical series' and I hope to see a LOT more of Violet in them!
Thomas King, WOW,I don't think this is the first series I have seen him in, but I cannot place (or name the others.... I have watched a couple) But the care and unwavering love he shows to Grace, after he realises he misunderstood her, is so swoon-worthy. I think we may have another Vert King to add to the ever-growing list!
Watching Jack and Grace's relation evolve is soon addicting! Not to mention the gym scene where Grace tells Jack EXACTLY what we are all thinking. This one had my heart RACING.
Coupling all this with the anxiety inducing, ever-present threat of the lead antagonist, Trent, played by Warren Levi Haney, who I must add has the most loving face but played an amazing stalker creep so well done, this series had me holding my breath and palms sweating in places but I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT (after I got over my tantrum at episode 3...)
I WANT MORE VIOLET BENNET, THOMAS KING, and if I am being truly honest, WARREN LEVI HANEY (maybe even in a good guy role..?) please and thank you.
