"Hot young blood" is a teen-flick- an action-romance movie about enmity, rivalries, love-triangle among the young students in the early 80's in the countryside of South Korea. They seemed to be hot-tempered so often rival groups of boys and girls were engaged in fighting. The hero was a playboy and the heroine was a female gang-leader.
At some particular scenes it has portrayed landscape of village which was eye-soothing. And the soundtrack was also good. The lead actors and actresses did their best but continuous sanguinary fighting and conflict just for "my girl" and other tiny issues was not adorable to me. Severe punishment of immorality was also expected. However sometimes this movie managed to uphold teenage psychology which involves the reluctance to follow the straight path and courteous manner for having "hot young blood" .
It's got a subtle similarity with another box-office hit Korean movie "Sunny (2011)" - both the movie focused on the same period and clashes among hot-tempered teenage people yet " Sunny" was a movie involving much deeper emotion and friendship. And I believe, most of the teenagers even in today's restless society don't possess such hot blood and they are more considerate in cherishing friendship to lead a better future rather than creating such enmity among them! :) .

Yes, this movie is a wonderful exaple of how good acting can work wonders for an average story.
The true charm lies in the fact that the lead actress played by Park Bo Young is a force to reckon with. She is a badass leader of her gang but has a soft spot for the school playboy. Joong Gil, played by Lee Jong Suk, is in his salad days. He flirts with girls without any worries about the future. He fall for the new girl in the school.
It is simple love triangle and yet, the innocent charm of Joong Gil and the Yoon Sook's sincerity will truly win your heart and make you root for them.

Fun movie to watch if your 13 to 35 years old. I love the simple story of their love story. I recommend this for anyone who loves comedy-romance film especially now at lockdown. I should've watched this sooner. Park Bo-Young's acting has always surprise me. I'm loving every Park Bo-Young movies and I think I'm in love with her.
This is a movie that has a little bit of something for everyone. At least to the Korean audiences or people that know of Korean lifestyle and cultures. But it just won't appeal to every audiences. It's basically about the life of few high schooler's during the 1980's without it having a set direction. It does somewhat come together near the end. But it's a movie that shows what Korean countryside high schoolers dealt with during the 1980's. And it has a love triangle going on which is the core of the story (which I think a lot of Korean audiences like, since it's a formula that isn't getting old seeing how majority of the Korean dramas are like that), a bit of high school rivalry and bullying going on. It really isn't a gripping movie or anything like that and the story is actually quite slow since there isn't really a set direction. But audiences that want to see high school relationships and how they deal with dysfunctional families might enjoy or at least appreciate this flick. I gotta admit there was few parts that I thought had some emotion and heart to it. And I thought the smooth and clean cinematography of the countryside was refreshing to watch, especially the intro. When it comes to the cast, they were alright. Except the female lead who I thought was a miscast, mainly because I just couldn't buy her being a leader of a high school gang or this tough girl. Lee Jong-Suk plays Joong-Gil who is this sleazy playboy that tries to be flirtatious with every female classmate. Now I am not a fan of Lee Jong-Suk, but I was impressed with his performance in this. I am not sure if it's because he was playing a bit of himself like Justin Timberlake to "The Social Network". But the way he portrayed his character was extremely believable to the mannerisms, to the way he says his dialogues to the movements. Overall, it's a worthwhile watch if you want to see a relationship driven movie. But like I said, it probably isn't for everyone.

Despite the jokes are not really enjoyable due to culture differences between my country and Korea, the story is good. Its not only focusing on the love life of the characters, but also how the lead characters evolve by showing how certain factor in their life really given a big impact on them.
