While this might possibly have been a watchable movie short with a more realistic storyline, this one was completely stupid from the opening scene. The male lead is supposed to be a calculating business billionaire, but he agrees to marry the naive step daughter of who later proves to be a total buffoon of an apparent business rival. Later on in the movie, he takes down the rival business with a few phone calls to the rival's customers, so the 'arranged-marriage' plot element was shown to be totally useless and baseless. The male lead, who is a handsome young dude, could have just as well hooked-up with his hot blonde doctor friend and not bothered at all with the mousy brunette plump teenager. Cinderella stories need a fetching princess to make it credible...the actress casted was not....naive to the extreme, yes,...fetching, no. The weak plot line remained confusing and underdeveloped the entire time and the bad casting match made the romance element non-engaging.
Open Your Eyes Billionaire Husband on ReelShort
So full transparency I have found the last few weeks if not month a "Reel" disappointment in relation to ReelShorts releases, the themes have been so hyper-sexualised and what I have described to multiple people as 🌽 hub's most searched categories made into vertical series'
HOWEVER, I have to say, this one brought me back, good old fashion ReelShort with two of my amazing actors cast in the leading Roles!
Autumn Noel portrayal of Hailey Rockwell, the "unwanted" daughter who is traded by her family in order to save her mothers life and pay her medical bills, is, as has become standard for Autumn, nothing but perfect. The leaps and bounds Autumn has made in her acting career is so wonderful to see and I feel so privileged to have been able to witness her growth!
Seth Edeen portrayal of Samuel Trent, the *crippled* son of a billionaire, who is just trying to find out what was the real cause behind his accident, is Stella and as with Autumn it has been an honour to witness his growth in his acting career and how far he has come since "Breaking the Ice".
Their unconventional love story, starting with Hailey promising Samuel that he will never be alone again, and "helping" him with the recovery of his legs. All while battling their conniving siblings (and maids, and doctor!) Is a joy to watch.
The parallels between their family situations is so perfectly displayed, that and (without giving anything away) the resolution to this issue, actually makes me smile.
So, if, like me, you were at the point of losing faith in the ReelShort productions, I think you will be VERY pleasantly surprised by this one
9/10 from me, only because she should have fired that dang maid like 3 times and still didn't, because she was too nice!!
