Some real and very difficult home truth.
Marriage, children, work relatiship, how we cope with it, all of it is in this series. It is based in Poland, but it is rather universal.
It could happen anywhere.
It is a bit difficult to watch sometimes, but in general it is fascinated and even funny sometimes.
Good Polish actors, Warsaw in the background, nice houses, good cars. Not a standard life in this country, but these make the story believable.
Money is the value, money is the power, the rest is just an obvious element of life.
The role of the father is to provide. To make someone a decent man this is unfortunately not enough.

"Decent man" had potential, but it fails on multiple levels. The story initially seems intriguing, but it quickly becomes unrealistic, with characters making decisions that are hard to comprehend.
The biggest issue, however, is the acting - forced and unconvincing. Even Jan Englert, usually outstanding, looks like he's just going through the motions. Krzysztof Czeczot in the lead role fails to deliver believable emotions. The infamous forest scene, where the protagonist furiously beats trees with a stick, perfectly illustrates what's wrong with this series - absurdity and a lack of authenticity.
Instead of a gripping psychological drama, we get an over-the-top story that loses its appeal halfway through. Wasted potential.
