Great flow, and the plot really highlights how being rich comes with incredible opportunities-privileges, as they say... like iba mag-appreciate Ang mga Tao pag mayaman ka, unlike pag mahirap ka kahit Anong galing mo Hindi nila Ma-appreciate, The marketing plans were brilliant, Pinag-isipan kumbaga! And the way they portrayed the ambitious, talented, and opportunistic middle-class couple is impressive!!! It's been a while since may magandang rom-com and this is it, A Must watch rom-com! I feel like unnecessary yung Sobrang Habang kissing scene sa ending so 9/10, yun lang naman, expect it to be way better than Rom-coms out there 😉.
It is light, nothing too complicated but definitely the actors delivered. The directing is above average as well. The story had some plot holes but they were forgiveable. One thing I noticed though, there were intimate scenes that felt a little forced or over the top, I think if they will want to produce better scenes in the future, they can consider hiring intimacy coordinators for it to be able to deliver its artistic intentions. Also, the characters were lacking a bit in their backstory which I believe was necessary to make sense of the movie's relationship conflict. Nonetheless, their acting was very satisfying, the potential of this love team is massive and looking forward to seeing them in more movies with deeper characters and better scripts, I truly think they can elevate the Filipino movie scene with their talents.
Just my personal views.
No dull moments for these two. A little mix of everything-romance, comedy and drama.
Maris Racal and Anthony Jennings do really have a strong chemistry together. Anthony shown incredible amounts of charm and comedic timing, partnered with Maris wit and humor, their pairing is on fire. Their acting is top notch and natural. The red car scene is my favorite, a lot of emotions going on. Haha.
The film itself might be a little bit of stereotypical Filipino romantic story and the plot is predictable but it is well made and enjoyable. The supporting cast like Carmi Martin and Ricky Davao were also veterans in acting, they still do amaze me.
The soundtrack evoked nostalgia, happy memories and make me feel inlove again. Overall Sosyal Climber movie is enjoyable and entertaining. Worth the watch.

Without ever having heard about this 2025 Filipino romantic comedy, I sat down to watch it, as I had the chance to do so. And I will say that the synopsis for the movie actually sounded interesting.
And I wanted to enjoy the movie and like it, but I have to say that I had a huge problem getting submerged into the storyline. Writers Jericho Aguado and Jason Paul Laxamana, with the latter also directing the movie, just failed to pen down a script and storyline that proved entertaining and enjoyable to me. So it was a struggle to sit through this ordeal, especially since the movie was rather lacking in both comedy and romance department.
Given my rather limited exposure to the Filipino cinema, then I wasn't familiar with the cast ensemble. It should be noted, however, that the acting performances were indeed fair enough.
It is not like "Sosyal Climbers" was a bad movie with poor English in its title, but the movie just didn't cater to my particular liking. But I am sure that there is an audience out there that will enjoy this movie way more than I did.
My rating of director Jason Paul Laxamana's 2025 movie lands on a generous four out of ten stars.

I've watched this movie without having any expectations about it and I'm surprised that it was indeed a good film, I liked it. The lead couple in this movie has a great chemistry and the story builds up and really was promising. I'm glad I did watch this movie without nothing in mind just completely wanted to have a good time watching a random movie in Netflix and I'm happy I did. The acting was really superb and how the story flows and getting to the plot was really engaging from start to finish. The lead actress really brought energy and great vibe on this film, she was refreshing to watch with promising way of acting. This movie is really a fun romcom and a movie you can watch randomly when you wanted a light, fun movie in a weekend night or an evening to relax with.
