Lindsay Lohan was recently a guest on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live.

The actress reunited at one point with Mean Girls co-star Lacey Chabert and confirmed that she may one day star in an Ann-Margaret biopic.

The response to Lohan’s appearance, however, focused a lot less on what she said with her mouth … and a lot more with how she looked.

Especially when it came to her face.

Lohan has been largely out of the spotlight for a number of years.

She has appeared in the occasional music video or narrated the occasional television series over the past few years, but it’s easy to forget at this point that Lohan was a celebrity gossip mainstay for years back in the early and mid-2000s.

As in The Madness, the Netflix thriller led by Colman Domingo, which for the week of Nov. 25 amassed nearly 1.3 billion minutes viewed for its eight episodes.

Step aside rom-coms and simple comedies, because we have a Christmas…wait, I don’t know what to call this one. Lindsay Lohan makes her annual comeback to Netflix with a handsome hunk who was probably your high school crush, this time with Ezra from Pretty Little Liars. Yeah, never thought I’d see this day coming, but here we are. Guess we’ve moved on from the Glee stars for this year. Oh, wait, no, because Kristin Chenoweth is in this movie as a mom. Our Little Secret tells the story of exes Avery and Logan, who run into each other 10 years after breaking up and have to spend the holiday together because they’re dating siblings. Yes, the idea of becoming a weird kind of in-law with your ex doesn’t sound very amusing to me, but it seems the writers of this film might’ve thought it would be really funny.

Mother of the Bride unwittingly tells you everything you need to know about it right at the opening logos: the expected Netflix logo and one for the Motion Picture Corporation of America, a company I’ve never heard of that apparently specializes in low-budget comedies, such as Dumb and Dumber, the A Christmas Prince and The Princess Switch franchises, and Irish Wish earlier this year.

Even without knowing their filmography, I would still say this logo tells you everything about the film before it starts because “Motion Picture Corporation of America” sounds like the most generic name for a movie studio ever and Mother of the Bride is unfortunately about as generic a romantic comedy as you can get, aside from a handful of key details that honestly make it worse.

In Irish Wish, a new Netflix rom-com, a bride-to-be is dumped by her lover on wedding day — but, with steely determination, she quickly closes in on a handsome replacement. Consistent with rom-com protocol, her “Irish wish” is realized.

Going back to When Harry Met Sally…, there’s always been something cozy and likable about the rom-com genre. No Hard Feelings starring Jennifer Lawrence did well last year as a feature and now is up for a sequel.

And Anyone but You has surprised rom-com experts. Its numbers are impressive – 2.8 billion hashtag views on TikTok and a worldwide box office that has surpassed $200 million. The data reminds some of a throwback to the Bridget Jones cycle.

To be sure, rom-coms have become formulaic, especially the Netflix model. But a case could be made that they now emerge as a positive social resource now.

“The Gen Z-ers need prods of positivity,” observes one psychologist.

Between 2003 and 2005, Lindsay Lohan was Hollywood’s hottest young actress, as Lohan’s winning performances in the hit comedy films Freaky Friday and Mean Girls catapulted Lohan, who also released a platinum-selling pop album in 2004, to an elevated level of teenage stardom that could perhaps best be described as Lindsay Mania.

However, by the end of the 2000s, Lohan’s career was in shambles, as Lohan’s personal problems, namely alcoholism and drug addiction, and professional disappointments combined to label Lohan as a troubled actress and woman whose unprofessional behavior outweighed her rapidly declining popularity.

Now thirty-seven, Lohan has embarked on a comeback attempt in the Netflix universe, beginning with her starring role in the 2022 romantic comedy film Falling for Christmas, which became one of Netfix’s most-watched films for the year. Lohan’s second Netflix film, a romantic comedy film called Irish Wish, is set to be released in 2024.

Up Here is one of the most sincere musical television series to come along in a while.

It's based on the 2015 musical "Up Here" by husband-and-wife team Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez.

We're all nostalgic for the 1990s now, so here's a throwback to the rom-coms of the era. It's in no way trying to reinvent the genre -- let's call it an homage.

Even the general conceit that the main characters have imaginary people living in their heads that they converse with regularly is not so unique. It's not far off from Herman's Head, Inside Out, or the "Dream Ghosts" sequence from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.

Danielle Olivera confirmed the Summer House star cheating on their partner while filming in the summer was Oliver Gray. The popular celebrity gossip platform Deux Moi recently shared a submission they received that someone from Summer House had spent the summer of 2022 cheating on their partner. Anne Heche’s son Homer has shared a statement about his state of mind following his mother’s death on August 12.

Last week the Hollywood actress was involved in a car crash in Los Angeles and remained in a coma until her untimely death at age 53.

As previously reported, on August 5 Anne crashed her Mini Cooper into a home in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles.

It was later revealed that she had been involved in two other car accidents before the fatal crash.

The home, which had an occupant at the time, caught on fire as a result of the crash.

Heche was unconscious and pulled from the wreckage; however, due to her brain injury, she succumbed to her injuries.

As Aya Cash’s worstie watched her former other half (Chris Geere) spar with her new other other half (played by Colin Ferguson), it became increasingly clear she couldn’t pick either one. Both were acting like idiots. Both were being immature. Both had made mistakes with her that had not been about her.

So she had to choose herself. Gretchen had to walk out of that kitchen without either man. She had to know that her self-importance, her power, couldn’t be determined by a romantic partner. So she flew solo.

And then she ran in front of Jimmy’s car, slapped him in the face, and put her engagement ring back on, this time (one hopes) for good.

The characters on “You’re the Worst” have always been a bit troubled, but the show’s Season 3 ended with the kind of cliffhanger that blew everything up. Moments after alcoholic writer Jimmy proposed to his live-in signficant other Gretchen, he hopped in a car and sped off. Now, as Season 4 opens, it turns out three months have passed, and Jimmy has started a new life at a retirement Rv village hundreds of miles away. Gretchen, who already struggles from depression, has become a shut-in. And their best friends, Edgar and Lindsay, have moved on and are weirdly thriving.

“I always believe in taking bold storytelling choices,” creator Stephen Falk told IndieWire’s Turn It On podcast. “They’re not always right, but sometimes it’s exactly what you need in the moment. We’re a heightened version of a romantic comedy. It felt in character for everything we built and good for the show.

Prepare for You’re the Worst‘s Lindsay and Becca to regress… even more than usual.

The Fxx comedy has hired Robin Riker (General Hospital, The Bold and the Beautiful) to play Fay Cottumaccio, mother to Lindsay and Becca, per The Hollywood Reporter. If You’re the Worst is actually just a competition to see which character is truly the worst, Jimmy raced out to an early lead in Wednesday’s Season 4 premiere.

The Fxx comedy’s two-part premiere revealed how Jimmy and Gretchen reacted to him proposing to, and then abandoning, her in last season’s finale: Jimmy ran away and hid in a dusty trailer park for three months, watching The Fall Guy DVDs and drinking whiskey with a surly old neighbor (Justified‘s Raymond J. Barry...

The end of “You’re the Worst” Season 3 was a reversal of the ending to so many rom-coms. On top of a mountain, Jimmy (Chris Geere) proposed to Gretchen (Aya Cash) with fireworks in the background and a personal twist to popping the question. (His proposal was themed around local murders — her favorite thing.) She said yes and they kissed.

Except the credits didn’t roll. The mood was sour, not celebratory, despite the two happy faces. Their kiss was in darkness, with just the dim light of Gretchen’s phone illuminating their faces. Under the pretense of getting her a hoodie from the car (to lay on during sex), Jimmy walked away from Gretchen as the fireworks began. Instead of celebrating under the brightly lit sky, he fled the scene, leaving his new fiance without a clue to his whereabouts or why he walked away from the bond he proposed.

How will You’re the Worst‘s Jimmy bounce back from abandoning his fiancée last season? By taking a little “me time,” apparently.

Et's Leanne Aguilera spoke with the 43-year-old model and business mogul at the summer Television Critics Association press tour on Thursday, where Banks revealed that Lindsay Lohan is "excited to come back" and shared how her life has changed since the birth of her son.
