Before you read further, I am the kind of reviewer that just wants to see a good movie/series. I am not going to compare anything with books,am not going to judge acting on details,... I just want to see a good thing without having to much expectations.
Wow...the first time I saw that heroes reborn was out I got high hopes. Since the Heroes series I was waiting to find something similar.
The first episodes start good in my opinion. It doesn't give it all away just like the first heroes. But... After having watched the whole thing it looks like so many cool things could be done with the powers of ever character. Thats what made Heroes so good, the building up, the new aspects every episode, leading to a great end.
If you are a fan of Heroes i would still recommend to watch it because i know you like this kind of series. But also you will be disappointed at the end.

I have to start by saying I really liked the original Heroes. Especially the first 2 season were masterpieces. There was a brilliant mystery that was making me want to see more and more.
Unfortunately i can't say the same about Heroes Reborn. There are obvious plot holes and even some ridiculous segments. There is an Asian girl who lives alone, have no friends, no family and all that she does is stay in her apartment out of convenience for the plot and this is not even the worst part. She has to safe her father....from a video game, where she can teleport or whatever and when she does that you see it in a computer graphics video.
The show is copying a lot from the its predecessor like the main characters are again of Asian, Latin and obviously American origin. Their development, however, is lacking and is not as clever as the original. There is a mystery but this time it is created in the most stupid way - by coincidences that stop the main character from finding what he actually used to know.
Another downfall to the show is that there are too many children in the main characters. I mean is this supposed to be a teen show?
I still keep my hope alive that the show will get better and develop the mystery properly and make me want more and more like the original.

Reviewers Notes: 1. The original Heroes was one of the best written best directed and best produced shows in TV history. Its only crime was to appear as a wide-net network show just as the TV landscape was splintering into a zillion pieces. The exec who decided to deep-six the show should have lost his parking spot in the VIP zone, at the very least. While the entire series was iconic and wonderfully new (SAVE THE CHEERLEADER SAVE THE WORLD) the last season with the carnival locale presented one of the most memorable stories I have ever seen with brilliant acting and writing.
2. So that's a tough act to follow. Going into REBORN I was wondering if this was a sincere effort (as in, we goofed and we are going to fix it) or merely an exploitation of the remnant audience for fast ad profits in a new TV landscape where highly specialized shows, produced for cheap, can show a nice bottom line if pitched to a segmented but identifiable audience...?
3. Based on the 2-hour opener, looks like they are taking the low road. The show seemed to have cheap production values, some of the special effects were terrible, the dialog was far below the original series, and the electricity seemed gone.
4. Reminds this reviewer of the old joke about the test of an optimist - a young boy is taken to a locked room and finds it filled to the ceiling with horse manure. He is seized with joy and starts to dig. When the tester asks "why" he replies, with this much horse poop, there must be a pony in here somewhere!
5. We eagerly await the pony. But confidence is not high.

I was a MASSIVE fan of Heroes throughout its original run. I thoroughly enjoyed all 4 seasons and was still watching it religiously after 90% of people had jumped ship by the end of Season 4. I picked up & read every little bit of information that would add to the lore & immersion of the Heroes universe & just simply loved the whole concept. So when Reborn was announced I was overwhelmed with excitement, but at the same time I was very, very cautious as to how and if they were going to be able pull it off, as historically reboots are often complete flops. Knowing that Noah (played by the excellent Jack Coleman) was returning gave me at least some peace of mind as he was the anchor of the whole show, but I still went in to the premiere will extremely low expectations. That being said, even with these low expectations, I've come away after 13 episodes feeling HUGELY disappointed, and absolutely LIVID with the finale.
The show failed in pretty much every category it could fail in. The writing was awful. The actors were poorly directed. The script was shocking. The pacing was ludicrous. The CGI was absolutely cringeworthy. The character arcs were laughable & character development in itself was virtually non-existent - which resulted in literally no reason to passionately care about any single person unless they were a well developed character from the original series. Every now & then there were glimmers of what made the original series so great, and the June 13th two-parter was simply superb. But on the whole, if Reborn was a standalone series & it didn't rely so heavily on people clinging to nostalgic memories of the original, then I don't think it would've managed to retain even a fraction of the viewership that it ended up holding on to.
As much as I absolutely adore the Heroes Universe and the original characters, Reborn has to be the worst high-budget network show I have watched in my life. It is an insult to the original & Tim Kring should frankly feel ashamed of himself.
If you're a fan of the original like me then for the love of Sylar stay away from Reborn. It will do nothing but taint your fond memories of the original series.

So yep .. i kinda got a bit emotional just when i heard the theme music of Heroes ... new multi stories are again to be connected with new characters and as much as i wanted to see the old characters back .. well i kinda feel this way the idea of Heroes originals would be untouchable.
Of course the story when the Heroes were few and new was more thrilling but also now it look more promising and has so much potentials into developing into so many ways .. still there are some unrecognizable new concepts but so was the start of the original story.
Some reviewing websites mentioned that "This is the best Heroes has been since its first season!" well let's be fair .. it is not .. but i'd strongly say it is the best heroes since the third season since the 4th well wasn't that much of a series as it was a quick wrap up..
So back to our story here ... the plot look tight a solid .. the script is so much a like with the Original heroes .. and the stories "for me as an original 2006 series watcher" look organized and have a great potentials to develop to the way we expect.
Tim Kring is really now A Pro in the Sci-Fi Mystery Dramas , as after heroes i'v watched "Touch" and last spring's "Dig" and both were WOWzers so now with the new version of Heroes i'm relaxed that it is back with Kring himself but the script just get out of that low level it went off on Heroes Season 4 ;) It seems like not so many ties to it but the rhythm is still mild.
It is a "TV mini-series" so no one really knows where things will go after "if there is an After" it is just a way of showing a new generation what Heroes was 10 years ago..
It also sees in the end of the second episode that some of the old characters will have a minor present in the episode like Hiro Nakamura and Matt ... but it is kinda clear that the one to save the world this time is "Tommy" who if you're one of "Once upon a Time" watcher you know that he did an amazing job acting as Peter Pan.
Overall .. the script is promisingly good ,, the characters looked engaging .. and the music theme and soundtracks are still catchy .. so way to go Reborn and fingers crossed for things well.
