The Queen Who Crowns

Korean Drama '' The Queen Who Crowns '' is a historical drama about a strong Queen and the King who is always trying to come to terms with her power.

The drama indeed has two strong main characters who have a turbulent love story, with the King always hurting and betraying the Queen, and her always staying by his side.

However, and even though the cinematography is impressive and the costumes and makeup great, the story wasn't well handled. Actually, the pace was too fast, with everything happening too rushedly, and the time jumps being messy.

Finally, the performances were all great, by every actor and actress in the cast, and especially the two main leads.

So, overall, five out of ten.

I really really enjoyed this particular historical series/drama, nice actors, nice characters and great script. Well for me I'll have to say that the datings in the drama was confusing, I had to go back to the other the episode to be sure i didn't miss the date but I was still confused, I get that when the actor's says "after eight years" is to enlighten us but how many times will the mention the years that has passed.

Please cut the viewers some slack by adding the dates because I can't watch a drama and be solving math.

I suggest since it is a historical drama dates should have be added in the course of new episodes or events.

Okay, I loved this drama way more than I expected! This drama had me in a chokehold from the first episode, thanks to its unapologetically fierce queen and the insane chemistry between the leads. If you love a woman who commands every scene she's in and a romance that simmers until it explodes, this is your next binge.

So, the queen completely stole the show. Every time she was on screen, I was glued. The way she balanced cold, calculating authority with these little glimpses of vulnerability..

If you're here for a badass female lead, addictive chemistry, and just the right amount of melodrama, The Queen Who Crowns delivers.

This is a historical set during the early years of the Joseon dynasty and depicts the bloody coup by a prince who became King Taejong (Lee Hyun-wook) and the influence of the queen had on his decisions and reign. The series mainly deals with the iron willed Queen Wongyeong played by Chae Joo-young and depicts her rise to power and the hardships and conflicts she faced. Great acting particularly the queen and an interesting story but I feel it is let down by the flow of the story. The later episodes deal with their beginning which I felt would have been better left at the beginning. Also the plot flow is sometimes slow but I still gave it an 8 as parts of it are superb.
