"For the main award our debate was impassioned, clearly heated and even fiery. Our final decision was not unanimous, but perhaps that is fitting for a film that melds provocation with aesthetic brilliance. Set in a country where criminals and victims live today as neighbors, the film we elected follows the path of a stunningly brave man named Adi, who seeks to meet face to face with the men who murdered his brother. This film is an act of research, digging into recent but clouded history, a philosophical meditation on memory and crime. We honor this work of art that, above all else, manages to break the silence."
