The Shape Of Water DoP Dan Laustsen will shoot the space crew rescue mission.
Gur Benshemesh (Narrated By) will direct sci-fi thriller Breach for Gareth Ellis-Unwin’s Bedlam Productions (The King’s Speech) and Gfm Films, which is launching the project to buyers at the European Film Market (Efm) in Berlin. Shooting will commence this summer in Belgium, in co-production with uMedia.
The film follows a space crew on a 16-year research mission. On board, chief medical officer Sam Limkin uses a floating camera droid to record their expedition. When an alien insect dies on the ship, an accident during the post-mortem releases a tiny airborne pathogen into the ship’s atmosphere – what follows is recorded entirely by the small droid.
Crew include Oscar-nominated DoP Dan Laustsen (The Shape Of Water), VFX producer Tim Field (Ex Machina) and Cliff Wallace (World War Z) who is handling creature effects. Frank Walsh (The Mummy) has consulted as production designer.

Rogert Eggers’ minimalist horror film The Witch took everyone by surprise when it released in 2016, going on to become one of the year’s very best.
Ditching a lavish budget and CG-laden scares, the genre piece was rooted in the New England wilderness of the 1600s where, after being cast out from the church, a rural farmer set about building a new life on a plot of land for him and his family. But what he didn’t realize is that his newfound home was situated on hallowed ground, evoking the wraith of an ancient, malevolent spirit.
Again, the film was a big hit and now, all eyes are on Eggers to see what he does next. While we heard that he was eyeing a Nosferatu remake, Deadline is reporting tonight that the director’s lining up a project called The Lighthouse, which is apparently a fantasy/horror pic that...

Reportedly, Schwarzenegger will play the American president. [THR] The Lighthouse: Robert Pattinson (Good Time, above) has joined the cast of The Lighthouse. He will play a lead role opposite Willem DaFoe. Robert Eggers (The Witch) will direct; he and Max Eggers wrote the original script, described as "a fantasy horror story set in the world of old seafaring myths." The director of The Witch, Robert Eggers, is developing a new fantasy horror movie called The Lighthouse. He already cast Willem Dafoe in the film and now he has added Robert Pattinson to the cast.
There aren't a lot of details on what the movie is about, but we now know that the story is set in the world of sea-faring myths. Seeing what he did with The Witch, I'm extremely excited to see what he does with this next film. The distributor of the film, A24, had this to say in a statement:
“We are beyond excited to be partnering again with Rob Eggers, a true visionary and one of the great filmmakers of his generation. This new script blew us away — it creates a totally unique and ambitious universe and manages to somehow feel scary, suspenseful, wondrous and beautiful all at the same time. We can’t wait...

Robert Pattinson will be joining Willem Dafoe in the New England set horror, The Lighthouse, the next film from The Witch's Robert Eggers.
At least in the world of indies and 'micro-budget' studio efforts, we’re experiencing something of a horror and thriller renaissance. In the last few years alone, films like It Follows, Get Out, and The Babadook have broken through. And then there's also The Witch, a self-described New England folktale whose passion for historic accuracy (and mythological fidelity) made you believe that goats could speak. It made us wonder what its writer-director Robert Eggers does next. And now we've got the answer.
Eggers has cemented his relationship with indie studio A24 with the upcoming “seafaring” horror, The Lighthouse. And the film has now lured Robert Pattinson to live deliciously on its shores.

Robert Pattinson would like to live deliciously. To prove it, he’s starring alongside Willem Dafoe in “The Witch” writer/director Robert Eggers’ sophomore feature “The Lighthouse,” described as “a fantasy horror story set in the world of old sea-faring myths.” A24 will distribute the film, as it did “The Witch,” in partnership with Rt Features.
“We are beyond excited to be partnering again with Rob Eggers, a true visionary and one of the great filmmakers of his generation,” A24 said in a statement. “This new script blew us away—it creates a totally unique and ambitious universe and manages to somehow feel scary, suspenseful, wondrous, and beautiful all at the same time. Willem Dafoe is set to star in director Robert Eggers new film project called The Lighthouse. Eggers will write and direct the film which will see Dafoe playing "a character named Old and will take place in Nova Scotia in the early 20th century."
Eggers is the same director who wrote and directed the amazing and critically acclaimed horror thriller The Witch. I thought that movie was incredible, and he has also directed the upcoming remake of Nosferatu, which I hope turns out to be stunning.
This guy put so much detail and care into crafting The Witch, that I'll be excited about anything that he ends up doing. That how impressed I was with his first movie. You just don't see movies like that made these days! Young filmmakers like him seem rare.
Willem Dafoe was recently nominated for an Oscar for best supporting actor for his role in The Florida Project.

Willem Dafoe is a treasure. A frequently terrifying, shapeshifting treasure. Two of last year’s greatest supporting actors, The Florida Project‘s Willem Dafoe and Call Me by Your Name‘s Armie Hammer, are turning to the thriller genre for new projects, both from acclaimed up-and-coming directors. First up, Dafoe will lead a new film from Robert Eggers, whose directorial debut The Witch proved to be a break-out success for A24.
The company will team with New Regency to produce the project, titled The Lighthouse, in which Dafoe takes the role of a lighthouse keeper named Old, Deadline reports. Once again a period film for Eggers, this one takes place in 20th century Novia Scotia, but unfortunately not more details are known beyond that, except prepare to be terrified. With the announcement of this film, it sounds like Eggers’ Nosferatu remake is on the backburner.
As for Hammer, he’s joining another Annapurna Pictures film after his memorably evil turn...

From the moment (most of) Team Coulson was sucked through a monolith into the future, we've been waiting to find out what happened to Fitz in the past. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 5 Episode 5 answered that question in truly awesome fashion.
In short: welcome back, Lance Hunter. We've missed you.
We all knew that poor Fitz wouldn't take the disappearance of all his friends laying down. Curiously, his most out-there theory (abducted by aliens) actually turned out to be true, more or less!
It does beg the question why everyone was so dubious of this particular idea. Aliens are well-known to exist in the McU, after all, and Coulson personally knows high-ranking Asgardians!
Really, though, that's just nitpicking, because I absolutely loved this episode.
The greatest burden rested on the shoulders of Iain De Caestecker as Fitz, and he was simply brilliant throughout, from Fitz's progression...

The temperamental nature of the weather on the Irish Sea leads to the two becoming stranded 25 miles from land in the Lighthouse and as their supplies start to run out, their grip on reality begins to fail.

I love horror films that are set in the past, before mobile phones, internet, even before cars; the more isolated, the better, without the distraction of modern life interrupting what makes us truly afraid. When all you have is other humans and nature and the thin line that separates you from violence and insanity. Such seems to be the case with The Lighthouse, a new feature film directed by Chris Crow (Devil's Bridge, Panic Button) and produced by David Lloyd (Devil's Bridge). Starring Michael Jibson (Les Miserables, The Riot Club) and Mark Lewis Jones (Troy, Master and Commander), it tells the true story of the Smalls Island incident of 1801, off the coast of Wales. Quite macabre, and all the more sinister for being plucked...
