Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine has tapped Disney television executive Lauren Kisilevsky to lead the build-out and oversee the development and production of movies and series in its Live Action Family, Kids and Young Adult division.

Kisilevsky will serve as executive vice president of live-action family, kids and young adult, reporting to Hello Sunshine CEO Sarah Harden.

“Lauren is an expert developer who has consistently identified quality brand building material and IP for young audiences,” Harden said in a statement. “An incredible collaborator and team player, Lauren has a fantastic track record of developing and executing creatively distinctive projects with strong leadership. As we build out our family and young adult content offerings, we know Lauren will make an incredible addition to Hello Sunshine.”

He's not a household name quite yet, but if you're a fan of a few not-so-popular fantasy or sci-fi titles or of a very popular Hulu teen show, that might be why he has a face you recognize.

If you grew up slightly obsessed with A Cinderella Story - and, be honest, who didn't? - you most definitely came across Pardo in one of his earliest roles. Actor Winston Duke originally thought he’d been passed over for a part in Marvel’s Black Panther.

“My agents love pranking me,” the actor, featured in People‘s Ones to Watch package, says in this week’s issue. “So they called and were like, ‘You really need to sit down for this. We’ve got some bad news.’ ”

The look of Mayans Mc, the upcoming spin-off of Sons of Anarchy, is starting to take shape. Over the past week, we've heard major casting news, and now we know who's going to play several of the series' principal characters.

Most importantly, we know that Jd Pardo (The Messengers) will play Ezekiel "Ez" Reyes, a prospect in the Mayans Mc and the character around whom the series' drama will revolve. Reyes faces the conflict between wanting revenge on the drug cartel who ruined his life and wanting to live the rest of his life right.

We also know that Edward James Olmos (Battlestar Galactica) will play Reyes' father, a man who wants to distance himself from his shady past and lead his children to a better life.

More details are emerging for Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman's Viral. The infection continues to spread, with Viral set for a Summer release. Starring Sofia Black-d'Elia (“The Messengers”), Analeigh Tipton, Travis Tope and Michael Kelly, the film looks through the eyes of two teenaged sisters as their neighbourhood is transformed by a deadly virus. Produced by Blumhouse International, Im Global and Busted Shark Productions, a low-grade trailer for the film is available here. For more on the story, sisters Emma (Black-d'Elia) and Stacey (Tipton) barricade themselves away from a deadly infection. But, the virus comes knocking via wanting neighbours. Fox is getting an early jump on Upfront week, ordering 24: Legacy and Lee Daniels’ Star to series.

The 24 reboot, which stars The Walking Dead‘s Corey Hawkins, Homeland‘s Miranda Otto and NYPD Blue/Sons of Anarchy vet Jimmy Smits, will adopt the original series’ real-time format. Like 2014’s event series 24: Live Another Day, 24: Legacy will consist of 12 episodes (although Legacy, unlike 24: Lad, is an ongoing series).

TVLine has learned that the NYPD Blue and Sons of Anarchy vet is joining the network’s 24: Legacy pilot in the series-regular role of John Donovan, a powerful U.S. Senator with higher political aspirations, who is married to the blazing smart former head of CTU (Homeland’s Miranda Otto).

"Harry Potter" and "UnReal" star Freddie Stroma has been cast as the lead, author H.G. Wells, in Kevin Williamson's ABC pilot "Time After Time" based on Karl Alexander's fantasy novel. The story follows Wells as he tracks Jack the Ripper through time to the modern day.

The project was previously adapted for the screen as a Nicholas Meyer film in 1979 which starred Malcolm McDowell and David Warner. Marcos Siega is directing the TV version's pilot. [Source: Deadline]

"Community" star Joel McHale has signed on to star in CBS' multicamera comedy pilot "The Great Indoors". Mike Gibbons ("Tosh.0") created the series and is penning the script and executive producing.

The story centers on McHale's Joel, an outdoorsy adventure reporter with a sardonic sense of humor who must adapt to the times when he becomes the boss of a group of millennials in the digital department of the magazine.
