Mo-Faya

First I'm a big fan of Kenya content being a Kenyan myself and a few weeks to the series release when I saw the trailer on Reuben Odanga's channel, specially it being released on Netflix, I thought I was coming to Showmax but I'll leave it at that. The show it self is ,eeeeeeeeeeeh. Much to my own excitement after seein the trailer I thought i would have best been a movie or a shorter series, cause with the time skips which I couldn't follow.most of what the characters where doing and how they show the rise to 'comfort' or sth. I don't know mehn. I wanted to get invested in it but the beats are there I could write this as an essay and pass it off as a a series. The production tried, the sound sfx was bad especially of the guns. The actions the x-ters did was questionable at best. It tries to be a political film that fails short much like soon comes night that's more political and does nth with it. Anyway. Writing this after binging it, I'm not happy overall with it. Things more or less happen ur just there to get to the ending. Anyway check it out for urself and see whats up. I guess i'll watch nairobi half life again to what I'm missing especially seeing Tosh directed some episodes. I'd give it a five but too long and too lose.

Mofaya being on Netflix is a huge win for the Kenyan industry because it is another series added onto the list. It highlights both the potential and challenges of local productions. While it has a compelling premise, the show suffers from rushed scripts, plot holes, and weak character development. Editing mistakes, visible equipment in scenes, and subpar cinematography further weaken its quality. Key moments, like Zawadie's transformation and other characters' motivations, feel incomplete, leaving viewers with unanswered questions. Although it's exciting to see Kenyan content on Netflix, better quality control is needed to ensure these stories meet global standards. Kenyan audiences deserve productions that truly showcase local talent.
