Weird for the sake of it – silly is a hard line to walk and this falls flat

I have found that watching short films and looking them up on IMDb has made me realize how poor the data entry is for many of them; it does appear that many just have the absolute minimum to get listed and leave it at that. As a result I have tried to add some credits if I see they are missing; despite how much I have done this recently, I have never entered a character name of "genital arm"; until today.

This occurred because in this film we have a young man who knows nothing about sex (because his parents turned into cats); when he is approached in the library by a young woman who wants sex (she has a boyfriend but he died of cancer) then her moves on him cause him to be overwhelmed – particularly with thoughts of a chocolate heart. In the bathroom he gets advice from a toilet about the toilet's first time; this makes him realize this is all normal, so he returns to the woman, unzips his fly and reaches out his genital arm to connect with the same reaching from her underwear, causing both to orgasm. The end. I rarely would write a plot summary that goes from start to end, but in this case I feel like I should so that in a few weeks, when I think this film was a bad dream, I can check my notes and see that indeed, such things did happen.

The film doesn't start badly; the line about turning into cats seems like a nicely comic thing which is silly but intriguing. From here though it just because silly, random, and excessive without any frame, context or wit. The dripping chocolate heart is an indication of the slightly gross "comedy"; and this only gets worse. The overwhelming reaction to this I am sure will be "WTF", the only difference in viewers will be that for some this will be a great reaction, while for others it will be a bad thing. I suspect the majority will be in the latter camp, while those in the former will probably be heavy users of something not legal apart from a few states.

Personally I found it irritating in how weird, excessive, and random it was; it offered the viewer little but these qualities, and felt like this was all it ever had to give. Absurdist comedy is hard to do, with the "silly" line a hard one to walk – this film doesn't even try, belly-flopping into it regardless.
