Tin Can (2013)

Trivia

Tin Can

Edit
To achieve a sense of actual movement through the Mars crust, the set for the mining vessel, Ydinorog, was built with old car tires lain sideways to support its corners. This is the same method used to illicit a similar effect for the Millenium Falcon in Star Wars.
To achieve the effect of Moskalenko grabbing the camera and moving it about the cabin of the Ydinorog, actress Trin Miller actual grabbed a small metal rod attached to the camera's support system and lead the motion while cinematographer Bliss Holloway moved a Glidecam arm to follow.
Pavel Ivanovich Wintrov, Engineering Technician of the Ydinorog, is actually a playable character in the game, Super Motherload, for which this film was made. In the game, Wintrov has become a mutant due to the effects of the Martian mantle. In the film, his transformation is beginning.
"Ydinorog", the name of the mining vessel seen in the film, is Russian for "Unicorn", and a unicorn logo can be seen on the camera's HUD.
