Jameela Jamil & ‘Squid Game’s Won Ji-An To Star In ‘Pyongyang Home Video’ For Imagine Entertainment And Desert Bloom Pictures

Exclusive: Jameela Jamil (The Good Place) and Won Ji-an (Squid Game) have been tapped for key roles in Pyongyang Home Video, a new drama inspired by true events, which centers on two North Korean sisters reenacting Hollywood movies to escape the perils of their young lives.

Hailing from Imagine Entertainment and South Korea’s Desert Bloom Pictures, the film will be directed by award-winning Korean filmmaker Yoon Sung-hyun (Bleak Night).

The story follows sisters Nari (Ji-an) and Hana, who have grown up watching illegal Hollywood films. Following their forced escape from North Korea, when their neighbor tips off the police about their father’s black market VHS business, the sisters use their imagination to escape into fantastical reenactments of their favorite films, in order to survive the journey. Five years later, older sister Nari finds an unlikely ally in American talk show host, Serena (Jamil), who promises to reunite the siblings on live television.

Melissa Joan Hart Signs With Innovative Artists Entertainment

Exclusive: Innovative Artists Entertainment has inked producer-director-actress Melissa Joan Hart for acting, producing, directing, and crossover work in public appearances and conventions.

Hart is well known for her series Sabrina The Teenage Witch and Clarissa Explains It All, and also won a People’s Choice Award for her work on Melissa & Joey. She also led the Netflix family sitcom series No Good Nick opposite Sean Astin. Recently she co-starred in and produced the Netflix feature A merry Little Ex-Mas which will be coming out this December; that pic starring Alicia Silverstone as well as Hart.

As a director and producer, Hart’s credits include The Goldbergs, Schooled, The Big Show Show, Young Sheldon, Santa Bootcamp, and the iCarly reboot.

Hart continues to be managed by Gilbertson Entertainment and attorney David Tenzer.

Jameela Jamil Reveals How Little Money She Had Before Booking 'The Good Place'

Jameela Jamil is opening up about her struggles before landing her first acting role.

The 39-year-old actress was a TV presenter and radio show host in the UK before moving to Los Angeles with a plan to work as a screenwriter.

However, her agents told her an upcoming comedy series was looking for a British actress and she auditioned, eventually landing the role in The Good Place, which premiered in 2016.

In a new podcast interview, Jameela revealed how little she had in her bank account before landing that role.
