Almost five years after the release of Netflix’s To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (2018) film, main character Lara Jean’s (Lana Condor) younger sister Katherine “Kitty” Song Covey (Anna Cathcart) embarked on an adventure and spinoff show of her own, Xo, Kitty.
The Netflix series was teased in the third To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before film, Always and Forever, Lara Jean (2021), when Kitty met Dae, who was portrayed by Jeon Ho Young in the short scene, during a family trip to Korea.
Announced in Oct. 2021, eight months after the arrival of the final film on the streamer, Netflix’s first spinoff series inspired by a Netflix original film hit screens mid-May 2023. Just like her older sister, Kitty got herself tangled up in some complicated love triangles last season. She also picked up on an intriguing mystery to solve thanks to some things her mother left behind.

It was another cruel summer for on-location film and TV production in Greater Los Angeles.
FilmLA said Wednesday that shoot days fell 5% during the July-to-September period to 5,048, marking the weakest quarter of 2024 and surprisingly falling below the strike-riddled Q3 last year. The recent surge in scripted TV production stalled during the summer and reality retreated again ahead of the year’s final production push.
The L.A. County’s film-permitting office said it was the region’s second-slowest summer period as industry output and employment continued to fall below expectations set during the post-Covid, streaming-bubble era. The current levels for every category of scripted production FilmLA tracks trail their adjusted five-year averages on both a per-quarter and year-to-date basis.
Scripted television producers logged 758 shoot days during Q3 across the vital TV Drama, TV Comedy and TV Pilot categories. Unscripted production in L.A. continues to decline as TV Reality production fell by 56.3% to 946 shoot days.

Today, Wednesday (August 28), marks the four-year anniversary of Chadwick Boseman‘s tragic death and one of his past co-stars, Lupita Nyong’o, is remembering him and his legacy publicly.
The 41-year-old actress took to Instagram with an emotional tribute in memory of the late Black Panther actor.
She captioned the photos with a quote, “Grief never ends. But it changes. It is a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith. It’s the price of love.”
While the author of this quote is unknown, Lupita seemed to know exactly what it meant and just how helpful it could be to those grieving. The comments on the post were flooded with love and grief and memories of the late actor.
She finished the caption with “Remembering Chadwick Boseman. Forever.”
Chadwick was just 43-years-old when he passed in 2020 after battling colon cancer.

Valorant is always known for its tricky and intricate maps. Players need to have proper tactics to use the advantages and counter-setups of the maps. For example, Split and Bind have always been defender-friendly maps. Whereas Lotus and Sunset are helpful for the attacker with more choke points.
With the recent patch 8.11, Riot has announced a new map called Abyss, which was launched on June 11. Initially, it wasn’t added for the competitive scenario, but now the map is available for ranked matches as well. And that’s where the trouble began.

After being blown away by the Prime Video adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novel Daisy Jones & The Six, I decided to circle back and read the author’s debut novel, the “tragic love story” drama Forever, Interrupted… and as the story went on, I became more and more surprised that it hadn’t yet received an adaptation of some sort. It seemed ready to be brought to the screen as a heartbreaking and heartwarming movie or TV show, with solid roles for two lead actresses. Well, now it’s getting its adaptation. Glamour reports (via Deadline) that Margaret Qualley (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) and Laura Dern (Jurassic Park) are set to star in a limited series adaptation of Forever, Interrupted that’s coming our way from A24 and the Netflix streaming service.

Exclusive: In a competitive situation, Netflix has landed for development Forever, Interrupted, a limited series based on the 2013 bestselling novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid, sources tell Deadline. Laura Dern and Margaret Qualley are set to star in and executive produce the project, from A24 and company-based producer Jessica Rhoades. Julia Bicknell is writing the adaptation and will serve as showrunner. Netflix declined comment.
In Forever, Interrupted, Elsie (Qualley) and Ben’s whirlwind romance is electric – within months they’re married and living happily ever after – when Ben’s unexpected death forces Elsie to come face to face with Susan (Dern), the mother-in-law who doesn’t know that she exists. Told through a dual timeline, the series recounts Elsie and Ben’s once-in-a-lifetime love, intercut with Elsie and Susan’s unexpected journey as their at first turbulent connection ultimately brings both women cathartic new beginnings.

Following Sara Ramirez’s departure from And Just Like That… last month, Max’s Sex and the City spinoff has lost another cast member. Karen Pittman, who played Dr. Nya Wallace in the show’s first two seasons, will not be returning for Season 3. In a statement to Variety, a Max spokesperson said Pittman was departing Ajlt because of scheduling conflicts with two other streamer series, likely Apple TV+’s The Morning Show and Netflix’s upcoming Forever. Max “It has been a joy to have Karen Pittman play the smart and stunning Professor Nya Wallace on the first two seasons of And Just Like That…,” the spokesperson said. “As we have thoroughly enjoyed working with this dynamic actress, so too have others. Due to her commitments to two other streamer series, it has become apparent that filming three shows at once isn’t possible. Due to the production realities,...

Dakota Johnson's attachment to "Forever, Interrupted" signaled promise, but updates on the movie's development have been scarce since 2014. Tricia McAlpin from Brooklyn Nine-Nine was hired to adapt the novel, but the lack of news has left fans uncertain about the project's future. "Forever, Interrupted" tells a heart-wrenching story of love, loss, and healing, offering a deeply moving narrative that could resonate with global audiences.
The Forever, Interrupted movie, an adaptation of the Taylor Jenkins Reid novel, was in development with Dakota Johnson in 2014. The novel, which delves into the heart-wrenching story of a woman who must grapple with the sudden death of her husband just nine days after their whirlwind romance culminates in marriage, has captivated readers with its raw emotional depth and complex character development. Judy Blume is a national treasure. She's the award-winning author of 25 novels, including "Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret" (1970), "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing" (1972), "Deenie" (1973), "Blubber" (1974), "Forever... " (1975), and "Starring Sally J. Freedman as Herself" (1977). Blume was the first widely-read author (certainly the first one I encountered as a kid) who spoke frankly about things like changing bodies, menstruation, masturbation, sex, and birth control.
Today Prime Video has released a new trailer for "Judy Blume Forever," which interviews Blume about her history and speaks to people like Molly Ringwald, Lena Dunham, Anna Konkle, Samantha Bee, Jason Reynolds, and Justin Chanda about the influence this trailblazing author gifted us with. As a girl who grew up with these books as a sort of personal schoolhouse, I admit to tearing up as I watched even this brief look at the documentary. There's a fitting symmetry to actor Michael B. Jordan's move into the director's chair for "Creed III," where he will also be starring as Adonis Creed, the ascending son of Apollo (Carl Weathers) from the original "Rocky" franchise. "Rocky" star and writer Sylvester Stallone also went on to direct several films in the series, helming the second, third, and fourth "Rocky" movies before returning 20 years later to star in and direct 2006's "Rocky Balboa." In a surprise continuation of the franchise, director Ryan Coogler re-imagined the property's underdog story for a new generation with 2015's "Creed." In the film, Michael B. Jordan and Tessa Thompson became the new Rocky and Adrian (Adonis and Bianca), and Stallone returned as the Mickey character (an older Rocky), the scruffy mentor role originally occupied by Burgess Meredith.

The animated series “Tuca & Bertie” has been canceled a second time, showrunner Lisa Hanawalt revealed on Twitter on Wednesday.
The animated show, which starred the voices of Ali Wong and Tiffany Haddish as anthropomorphic birds, was originally canceled after one season on Netflix before being picked up by Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim for Season 2. The network ordered a third season, which completed its run in August, but that’s the end of the road for the series for now.
“I still have a beautiful and weird ending to T&b in mind, hopefully someday we’ll get the chance to finish this story,” Hanawalt said on Twitter.
“To all our fans – we love you and can’t thank you enough for your support over the years,” Hanawalt said. “Please never stop making weird fan art (and dressing up as the characters for Halloween!), it brings me endless joy.

Jason Bateman has booked his holiday travel.
The multi-hyphenate is scheduled to star opposite Taron Egerton in the new Netflix thriller “Carry On,” TheWrap has confirmed. The film will be directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, a man who knows a thing about transportation-related terror thanks to “Non-Stop” and “The Commuter.”
Egerton plays a young Tsa agent who is blackmailed by a shadowy traveler (presumed to be the Bateman role) to let a dangerous package get through security (and onto a flight). And this happens, of course, during Christmas, which is already giving us “Die Hard 2” vibes. (The overall plot sounds like “Executive Decision” with a little “Red Eye” thrown in for good measure).
Tj Fixman wrote the first draft of the screenplay, with Michael Green doing the most recent polish. Dylan Clark will serve as producer. This is the first movie coming out of a recent Amblin/Netflix deal (which...

The theme of Code Orange’s new video for “Underneath” — the pummeling yet catchy title track off their upcoming LP — is total confusion.
Singer-guitarist Reba Meyers sings in a padded room. Keyboardist Eric “Shade” Balderose looks like a mad scientist. Bassist Joe Goldman is chained to a wall. The backdrop? Walls made of aluminum foil, cellophane-covered synchronized dancers and a burnt man crawling through tar.
This all unfolds as Meyers sings about how facing obstacles head on is the only way to overcome them and drummer-vocalist Jami Morgan screams about judging a generation.

A day after releasing his new track "Yummy," Justin Bieber has dropped the official music video! On Jan. 4, the 25-year-old singer shared the visual for the smooth tune, and it features a lot of food. Bieber is seen enjoying a full-course meal, surrounded by quirky characters, before taking off his sweatshirt and dancing on top of the dinner table. Considering the song is a loving tribute to Bieber's wife, Hailey Baldwin, something tells us she's going to be watching this on a loop.
"Yummy" marks the beginning of Bieber's new musical era, as he stated in a teaser for his upcoming LP. "I feel like this is different than the previous albums just because of where I'm at in my life," he says in the clip. "My past, my mistakes, all the things that I've been through - I believe that I'm right where I'm supposed to be, and God...

We've already run down our favorite action/adventure series, but now we're looking at a decade's worth of favorite procedural programming.
This is a reminder that we have almost two dozen favorites lists, and since we couldn't showcase every show on every list, we parsed them out a bit to make it more fun.
And these lists are not in any particular order. They're in the order the entries were received by TV Fanatic staff, so don't read into them!
To qualify, a show that began in another decade had to be airing during the decade, run a larger number of seasons from 2010 through 2019 if it started before 2010 or run the entire decade. Here we go!

Paul Rudd is such a naturally ebullient actor that it can be startling to see him ground down. A gifted physical performer who, at 50, looks so youthful that his appearance tends to precede all other attributes when he’s discussed, Rudd also still has the verve and energy of a rising star — a quality that he seems to enjoy playing against. Directed by Judd Apatow, Rudd helped give the films “Knocked Up” and “This is 40” their heft by sapping himself of fun and light. We wanted to see Rudd light on his feet because we know he shouldn’t be subject to entropy like the rest of us.
The new light drama series “Living with Yourself” makes this device literal: It forces us to compare the Rudd we think we know with Rudd as he might be, were he one of us. The pilot presents us with Rudd’s Miles in pieces,...

Pearlena Igbokwe was an English major at Yale, so it’s no surprise that she loves the process of reading and analyzing a literary work, breaking down the text and identifying its major themes and conclusions. In grade school, she was the type of kid who didn’t groan when a book report was assigned.
These instincts have served Igbokwe well in her nearly 30 years as a creative executive in television. But the Showtime and NBC alum, who has headed Universal Television since 2016, didn’t know what work lay ahead in the spring of 1985, as her sophomore year at the Ivy League college was coming to an end. She only knew she needed to hurry up and find a summer job. Yes, folks, you read that header correctly, the original House of the Dead and its sequel are officially getting the remake treatment.
News of Sega’s classic arcade games being revived first made headlines last week via Polish website Graczpospolita, which stipulated that studio Forever Entertainment would be overseeing the series’ return to the limelight. The developer has since confirmed via social media that it has in fact signed an agreement “regarding remakes of the games,” though sadly, not the platforms on which the pair will appear.
“No platforms or release dates have been confirmed,” reads the statement, adding “unfortunately we can’t say anything more for now. Please keep fingers crossed for us and follow our official channels.” That final sentence is a strange one, for sure. From the wording, it’s clear that the remakes are either in the early stages of development or work is yet to commence,...

From Donatella Versace to Oprah Winfrey, Maya Rudolph is known for her wide array of impersonations on Saturday Night Live. She has since been in numerous films and TV series including Forever, which debuted on Amazon this week. In a recent interview with the New York Times Magazine, Rudolph opened up about how her mixed-race heritage has affected her career — specifically with her hair.
During the interview, Rudolph, the daughter of soul singer Minnie Riperton and producer-songwriter Richard Rudolph, talked about her “super, super, superthick and supercurly” hair made her feel like an outsider as a child. This would spill over into her life on camera when people didn’t know what to do with her hair and would say “the most awful, disgusting things.”
When she joined the cast of SNL in 2000, her hair struggle continued. She said: “My hair was natural when I started Saturday Night Live, but...

The creators of “Forever” would very much like it if you didn’t read this full review before watching the show — or any reviews, or anything that might reveal what the new Amazon comedy starring Maya Rudolph and Fred Armisen is about. In fact, critics were sent a list of things not to mention in previews that essentially boiled down to “don’t talk about the characters, the plot, any of the other actors, or really even the fundamental premise.”
And honestly, having seen the series, Alan Yang and Matt Hubbard’s desire for secrecy makes sense. These eight episodes of “Forever” form a delicate soap bubble of a season, one that might easily be popped by coarse “it’s [blank] meets [blank]” comparisons. Like a bubble, it might be a little slight in some ways, but there’s something beautiful, peaceful — perhaps even transcendent — about watching it drift by.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched “Forever,” streaming now on Amazon Prime Video.
The word “forever” is often used flippantly, but as the title of Matt Hubbard and Alan Yang’s new Amazon series, it proves to be the actual amount of time its characters will spend together — because they’re both deceased and navigating a mysterious afterlife world.
Oscar (Fred Armisen) and June (Maya Rudolph) are first introduced to viewers as a married couple who easily slip into a routine. She started dating him, we’re told, because he was “nice” to her.
“Seeing their courtship is something that people can identify with because that’s how I think people imagine courtship looks like — that steady rhythm all the way through,” Armisen tells Variety.
As the show continues, though, both characters are “keeping a lot on the inside,” reveals Rudolph. “There’s so much...

Spoiler alert: Do not read until you’ve watched the first season of “Forever,” which dropped in its entirety September 14 on Amazon.
Though its first episode tries hard to convince us otherwise, there’s really no way to talk about “Forever” without talking about its capital t Twist.
The premiere of Matt Hubbard and Alan Yang’s new comedy does its damndest to lure the audience into a false sense of security, following married couple June (Maya Rudolph) and Oscar (Fred Armisen) through both the biggest milestones of their relationship and the many banal moments in between. June and Oscar’s lives are perfectly pleasant, but as June realizes with growing discomfort, they could also be described as aggressively banal. Their mutual love and comfort with each other slides into a mind-numbing plateau where tradition calcifies into excuses to never grow or change. For a while — and for longer than...

Maya Rudolph and Fred Armisen are likely the reasons why viewers will check out Amazon's new comedy Forever, but once in the door, they better buckle up. The eight-episode first season, which hails from Master of None's Alan Yang and 30 Rock's Matt Hubbard, is good. Like, really good. Forever, not to be confused with the short-lived ABC drama about an immortal medical examiner, follows married couple June (Rudolph) and Oscar (Armisen), they're comfortable in their predictable day-to-day lives, until one day things take a turn. The show starts out feeling like a more middle-aged version of Master of None. There are plenty of small moments, plus the trademark humor of Parks and Recreation and 30 Rock,...

Bobby Brown hits back against unnamed detractors on “Like Bobby,” his first new song since 2012.

Even in the era of Peak TV, fall has largely remained broadcast television’s time to shine. Cable and streaming outfits typically save their best material for the dead of summer or early winter, when the traditional networks have hit the snooze bar, and their big awards plays for March and April, which is to Emmy season what December is to Oscar season. You know the new fall TV season is upon you when you can't watch a single TV show on ABC, CBS, Fox, or NBC without being inundated by an onsalught of commercials for all their new comedies and dramas (the vast majority of which likely won't be around next season). Last year Kenan Thompson officially became the longest-running Saturday Night Live cast member, with 15 seasons under his belt. And, when he started on the show in 2003, he was the show’s youngest performer—a situation that seems worthy of some sort of SNL careerist medal.
Instead, this year he got his first Emmy nom focused entirely on acting–last year’s was shared with Chance the Rapper for their co-written comedy song “Last Christmas”. Of being recognized in the supporting comedy actor category this year he says, “To get into the mainstream makes me feel like I have a real career”—a typically funny riposte from a man who’s been a roaring success since his teenage ’90s stint on Nickelodeon’s All That and Kenan & Kel.
Thompson will certainly go down in SNL history for some of the show’s best-loved sketches, like “What Up With That?” and “Black Jeopardy!
