Basically a well executed remake of "The Departed"

Casting is fantastic and all the actors did a phenomenal work. This drama fitting combination of Cop/Mafia/Politics. However, as story progresses, you realize that this is nothing but a remake of a Leonardo DeCaprio/Matt Damon cult classic "The Departed".

However, this remake is a well made one with lot more depth and nuance in story lines. However, screenplay lacks many places and you feel like it's just getting dragged from one plot to another with no coherence.

Javed Jaffrey all the way - delivers an impactful performance as a Mafia. His character has an impact, and he delivers the performance of his career.

Javed Jeffrey: What a Performance??

Talents need fertile ground to thrive. However, this can never happen without having a proper pace. Nobody can ignore that a very few talents get that space and exposure. Similarly, when prejudices remain dominating, it blures the vision.

The theme of the New Hindi Web Series Mohre released in December 2024 is not unique. It narrates the cat and mouse race between police and criminal. There is nothing new in this. The Bollywood has exhausted its appeal using again and again.

But what matters in this Web Series is certainly the role played by Javed Jaffrey. Jaffrey has never been considered a great actor. Mostly seen as comedian or dancer so far, Jaffrey has made excellent performance in an unconventional role. The cine- lovers in India are bound to surprise Jeffrey playing the role of a Don of Mumbai underworld. But as the Series proceeds, Jaffrey seems stealing the show with his dominating performance. His enactment of a Mumbai Don belonging to Christian community is too perfect to ignore for anybody. Similarly, the character enacted by Jaffrey in this Web Series is different. Apart from using Tapori language of Mumbai, the character shows having great sense of humor, typical Hindi utterance of the Anglo Indians, unique dialogue delivery, expression of emtion, the typical approach of looking things, explaining philosophy and ceaseless commentary- the Web Series presents a Mumbai Don with great great cinematic experimentation and Javed has done justice with everything.

In fact, While watching the Series, it becomes evident that Jaffrey is unalterable in this role. In fact, none but Jaffrey can do justice with this character. Tremendous performance really. It seems obvious whether Indian Cinema has done justice to an actor of Jeffrey's status. Must watch Web Series of 2024 which will definitely change perception about the actor like Javed Jaffrey.

The Javed Jaffri's Show

I can't express how happy I am at the end of this series. Truly, this was hands down Javed Jaffri's show; he nailed the character, and it's a reminder that we need to see more of him. The show does feel like an adaptation of "The Departed," and that's a compliment. The writing is good, and at no point does it drag. Each episode is about 30 minutes long , and it's perfect - no unnecessary fillers. The supporting cast is excellent, and it's so good to see Suchitra Pillai cast perfectly. I am not saying this series is exceptional, but it's worth watching, and I really hope we get a season 2. Well done !

Jeffrey steals the show but characters of Arjun and Michael are also absolutely SMASHING!!!

Javed Jaffery does not need any introduction. He is an actor par excellence...but the actors in the role of ARJUN and MICHAEL , showed awesome maturity. Moments when the two are in a face-off situation, the dialogues are pretty crisp, and subtly delivered. Arjun's character is supreme , while Michael is kept as a surprise package, which is not a surprise at all...it's quite predictable of course.

SUCHHI's character also needs more light but she did a pretty nice job as Bosco's sis. But, would love to see the on screen chemistry of Michael and Asmee more.

Eagerly waiting for the next season.

Lots of love to Javed Jaffery.

Outstanding Performance

I have a feeling that this series is faintly similar to The Departed movie which was released in 2006 and directed by Martin Scorsese, and the movie had multistar cast of Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, Mark Wahlberg and Alec Baldwin in the main roles. The movie was about an undercover cop and a mole in the police attempt to identify each other while infiltrating an Irish gang in South Boston.

As I mentioned, it is just my feeling...... The story may be different Departed and truly hope it will be. However after watching first 6 episodes, it shows a mole in the police, but no undercover cop in mafila gang.

The Javed Jaffrey show but eye catching performance by beautiful Pradnya Motghare...

You will start enjoying the series after episode 3. Initial 3 episodes were slow. The complete Javed Jaffrey show 👹. He played character of Bosco, the mumbai gangster. The rivalry of Bosco and Jabbar is the key ingredient of the show. There are so many nice performances by other characters but there was an eye catching performance by Pradnya Motghare. She is very beautiful 😍. She has played a role of a brave journalist Asmi. I saw her first time in a lead role and she did an awesome job. Series will end with a great suspense and you will surely see next few seasons in future. I will highly recommend everyone to enjoy this webseries.
