It's a OK show- it absolutely had the potential to be a banger! It leaves nothing to the imagination, nor does it create that craving for the next EP and barely any character development. There are certain moments that you could really feel the awkwardness through the screen- It felt forceful and lacked the charisma, endearment and gentleness that one would expect from a Thai GL character/series... Storyline is great 💯 5 stars- BUT the directing and editing could have been better... It was a GL series for a sake of delivering a GL series! The action scenes were horrific, almost cartoonish. There was nothing wrong with the storyline- just the portrayal and delivery... Like I said- it was OK and had the potential to be great BUT the focus was on the parts of the plot that really didn't need to be explained and where they should have elaborated more they were shortened and stone walled...
Opportunities that could have been explored: -The protagonists father -Her relationship with the bodyguard -The "mate" shirt- The action scenes???
Scenes they should have shorted and/or edited better- The intimacy scenes, driving scenes, the big house and vehicle focus.

Most of Thai GL series I drop after 1st episode but Mate and TSOU give me different feeling.
1. Mate is made from novel, two main character(Genlong,Aoey) are exactly the same as novel. Both Grace and Oaey are charming and good at acting. Grace is really good at using her eye for express Gen emotion while Oaey shows Aoey PTSD symptoms cleary.
2. Almost plot are still the same as novel but some of them have been adjusted for more reasonable and interesting. Even I have finished reading novel ,watching new episode always surprised me what gonna happen next.
3.etc: Other character also support with their good work(Both Adult and Children).
Please support the series with legal watching through official Zense Youtube,WeTV,Amarin TV.

I would say, impressive!! I watched Mate The Series by accident. The storyline is good, so I read the novel first after EP1 ended. The director makes this series light and easy to understand. He made the story a little different from the novel. All cast acted extraordinary, especially Aoey, played by Oaey Ponchanok. She plays a person who has PTSD. Mate The Series content trigger warning for people who have mental disorder or PTSD. However, you will fall in love with Genlong (Grace Budsarin) and Aoey's story. Trust me you won't regret it. It's a must series to watch! You have to be a witness for their romance. Long live, Grace-Oaey!
So it's not bad but it's missing a lot imo.
The acting was good and there wasn't the usual terrible actor but I'll deal with it I always feel in most GL, but it still felt flat sometimes, some moment where they just look at each other for a bit too long not talking or anything.
The best part about this is the plot which is interesting, but they also did not pushed it far enough, a lot of interesting plot point were mentioned and never explored.
Tbh I liked all of it until the last episode, after the slap (trying not to spoil) everything was kinda boring to me, it also felt like the chemistry between the main cp was off for this episode, maybe it's just me tho.
Now for the real thing that made me almost quit watching, the couple of YouTubers/coffee owners, they give the worst possible advices, always talk to say nothing of substance but are somehow looked at as good council, I hated it, nothing against the actors, they did a good job, but god are they annoying each time they have a conversation with anyone or eachother, even the men in this show (contrary to most GL) are not as annoying as them.
So anyway, overall it was a good show, but I'm sad it wasn't a great show, still with a watch I would say tho.

I just saw the first episode by accident! I didn't know that it will be aired today, but i did know about this series. I can say that after the first minutes i was already in love with the story and the girls.
I juuuust can't wait the next episode, i don't want to spoil anything but i am sure you will like it too!
I am so glad that Thailand makes a lot of GL series there..and all of them are GOOD!!! And will be more to go anyway in 2025. We are blessed because we have Thailand..without this country, we didn't had such a beautiful series, the world is not open yet with the same sex love..but eventually, i hope, they will.
