The winter 2025 anime season has released major hits, but also some hidden gems that don't get enough attention behind big titles. Not every anime needs to be a genre-defining masterpiece. Sometimes, simplicity is better, especially for series that carve out their own niche in an oversaturated market. While some anime titles have gone under the radar, that doesn't mean they don't deserve the spotlight.
Some of the best stories in anime are often overlooked because they lack big budgets or insane marketing, especially if popular airing series are adaptions of popular manga and light novels. Ultimately, underrated doesn't always mean bad. More often than not, hidden gems are sometimes the most beautiful in the anime landscape as viewers pass over titles in favor of blockbuster hits.
