[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Yellowjackets Season 3.] Since Yellowjackets premiered in 2021, it’s been clear that no character is safe. From Laura Lee (Jane Widdop) to Jackie (Ella Purnell), the wilderness quickly began to take its pick of the ensemble cast of characters. But, with Season 2, it became clear that the writers were adamant to bring some sorrow to the adult timeline as well. While this wouldn’t necessarily be a problem, the adults the writers continue to kill off are all linked by a fundamental aspect which joins them: From the teen timeline to the adult timeline, these characters have been plagued by the Doomed Character Trope. A show like this is captivating because of the unpredictability of its circumstances. When each death relies on characters who have already suffered tenfold, it’s impossible not to feel nauseated each time someone is picked off. Although this trend feels like it started with Natalie’s (Sophie Thatcher,...

In a 1992 comedy flick, a carefree cheerleader learns about her destiny to hunt down and kill vampires. Although this teenage girl is initially flippant about her burgeoning abilities, a series of events forces her to take vampire-hunting seriously. Amid a botched prom and an antagonistic showdown in the school basement, the girl and her allies emerge victorious, having put an end to the tyranny of vampires hounding Hemery High School. Mostly unserious and wholly slapstick, this Fran Rubel Kuzui-helmed film received a negative to lukewarm reception on release. This comedy was none other than "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."
But this isn't the version of Buffy that entered the global pop culture DNA. After all, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," the television series we know and love, is remembered through its enduring imagery: Black leather jackets, occult/religious iconography, passionate romance, and gothic architecture, to name just a few. When you read about the films that could, and really should, have been made, you usually hear about Jodorowsky’s Dune, Richard Stanley’s The Island of Dr Moreau and Stanley Kubrick’s Napoleon are among the most frequently mentioned. However, one that should get just as much mention is George A. Romero’s Resident Evil.
Four years before Paul Anderson kicked off his franchise, George Romero, who certainly knew a thing or two about zombie movies, was hired to shoot a commercial for Resident Evil 2. When it was well received, plans were made to have him adapt the property as a feature film. A year later, he was fired from the project by Constantine Films.
Director Brandon Salisbury and co-writer Robbie McGregor devote just under two hours to exploring what happened, starting with his groundbreaking film Night of the Living Dead.

Chris Pine had a laugh but wasn’t exactly thrilled when fans focused more on that scene in one flick than the gritty, R-rated action. The $120M epic delivered brutal battles, but what grabbed the internet’s attention? Pine’s brief full-frontal moment. Despite the blood and gore, fans zeroed in on his unexpected cameo.

Pine, ever the good sport, joked about the attention but admitted he wished people had talked more about the movie’s intense storytelling and less about his “junk.” It’s safe to say this flick gave audiences more than they bargained for—and Pine, well, he kept it classy.

It’s a running gag that powerhouse streamer Netflix loves to cancel its original series.

Hugh Grant took all of our hearts away during his rom-com days but his real-life personality couldn’t be farther from a male romance lead. Often deemed as grumpy, sullen, and sometimes straight-up disrespectful, Hugh Grant holds a certain reputation for himself that you wouldn’t expect from the charming star of films like Love Actually.

Ubisoft's free-to-play XDefiant has only been out for four months and it's already facing trouble. The game was off to a strong start when it launched in May 2024, hitting a reported 1 million players within 2.5 hours of its release. Since then, the game has been unable to retain its player base.
During an investor call, as reported by Dot Esports, Ubisoft's CEO Yves Guillemot admitted that XDefiant has fallen "behind expectations." This is in spite of the fact that Ubisoft already had "lower expectations" for the game. Just a few weeks ago, the official XDefiant X account shared a roadmap through to Season 4, including plans for new weapons, maps, and modes, although there are no release dates planned yet. This suggests Ubisoft isn't giving up quite yet, though players still could.

[Editor’s Note: The following article contains spoilers for “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” Season 2, Episode 7, “Doomed To Die.”]
Shortly before “The Rings of Power” Season 2 debuted, there was a short-lived Twitter tiff over whether fans should care how much money Amazon spends on its “Lord of the Rings” prequel series. On one side, there were fans happy to take their entertainment at face value: “It’s TV! It’s meant to be fun! If a trillion-dollar shopping giant wants to cough up half a bill on the boss’ favorite fantasy franchise, then who are we to complain? And if you don’t like it, don’t watch it — there are other shows, you know.”
Fair points, to be sure, but the opposition argument focused on the bigger picture: “Think of all the other shows Amazon could’ve made with $465 million. Think of all the other artists who could’ve been working on those shows.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 4 was a turning point in the sci-fi horror series as Buffy and her gang transitioned from high school to college. With such a drastic change in her life, Buffy finds it hard to adjust without the support of Giles, away from her mother, and with Angel in Los Angeles.

Some fans believe certain episodes suffered because the show creator was also working on the spin-off show, Angel, at the same time. The hype surrounding Alien: Romulus has been growing more and more as the release of the film approaches. Being the latest addition to the franchise and more grounded in its roots, it is safe to say that the film has become one of the most hyped from the series in years. In both Hades 2 and actual Greek mythology, the Fates are characters that have consistently shaped the world and schemings of the Gods and Goddesses. The Princess of the Underworld, Melinoe, regularly asks Fate to lend its aid in Hades 2. Although this might not always be successful, you can still unlock the Fated List of Minor Prophecies.
Veterans of the original Hades title will remember the Fated List of Minor Prophecies as a list of tasks you can complete for standard rewards. The item serves the same basic function in Hades 2, although its not free this time. Steven Spielberg is undoubtedly one of the greatest voices in filmmaking today. Since the ’70s, he has proven himself to be a very competent director who can dabble in any filmmaking genre with ease. Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Raiders of The Lost Ark, Saving Private Ryan, Jurassic Park, The Color Purple, etc. are examples of his complete mastery over varied genres.

Brazil’s giant media conglom Globo and Spain’s Atresmedia International, the overseas arm of top commercial broadcaster Atresmedia, have renewed their strategic pact for another five years, in which Atresmedia delivers Globo telenovelas, series and mini-series across Latin America and the U.S. Hispanic market.

The tagline for The Asylum’s latest film Monster Armageddon reads “Welcome to the Multiverse”. But the film actually has less in common with Marvel or DC’s concept of shared universes than it does with Toho’s monster mashes like Destroy All Monsters and Godzilla Final Wars.

The org, now with more than 100 members, was created in 2016 as a place to include bloggers, YouTubers and other multimedia journalists not affiliated with mainstream outlets — a group that’s...
