While it once seemed improbable, it looks like Coyote vs. Acme may soon be coming to a theater near you!
According to Deadline, Ketchup Entertainment is in advanced negotiations to acquire the animated/live-action hybrid feature from Warner Bros, in a deal that's estimated to be in the $50 million range. The independent distributer-financier previously rescued The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, which is currently playing in theaters.
In recent years, Ketchup has also been behind the releases of Weekend in Taipei, Goodrich, Hellboy: The Crooked Man, Memory, Ferrari, Hypnotic, and Bushwick.
The trade does note that the deal could still fall apart, but things are progressing in the right direction for now. If/when the deal is finalized, expect to see Coyote vs. Acme hit theaters sometime in 2026.
The studio previously tried to sell the film early last year for approximately $70 million, which is believed to...

Note: The following story contains spoilers from “What We Do in the Shadows” Season 6, Episode 9.
From its first season, “What We Do in the Shadows” has been a show unafraid to cheekily drop big names, especially if the actors in question have a vampire on their IMDb page. And in its final season, the FX comedy embraced its chaotic, star-studded side once more.
“Come Out and Play” once again finds the Staten Island crew among the many, many, many throngs of vampires that inhabit New York, from the Meatpacking hotties to the aspiring artist vampires who have to hold down day jobs as baristas. But there’s one especially tall, pale and questioning vamp that may have caught viewers’ eyes. Here’s your guide to the “True Blood” star who’s casually in this latest season.

The former NBC sitcom A.P. Bio has a robust cast full of hilarious main and supporting characters. Mike O'Brien of Saturday Night Live acclaim created the original sitcom, which first premiered on February 1, 2018. The show is centered around professor turned high-school teacher Jack Griffin, who is played by Glenn Howerton of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. A.P. Bio follows Jack as he transitions from being a philosophy professor at Harvard University to an A.P. Biology teacher at his hometown high school after falling from grace due to a YouTube video.
A.P. Bio ran for two seasons on NBC before moving to Peacock for its final two seasons. The series was canceled twice even though it maintained an impressive Rotten Tomatoes score of 88%, with its second and third seasons earning perfect 100% critic scores. Despite the positive reviews of A.P. Bio, there was not enough consistent viewership for the series to continue past four seasons.

After Sherwood Schwartz's hit sitcom "Gilligan's Island" wrapped in 1967, actress Tina Louise, who played the glamorous movie star Ginger Grant, was finished. While most of Louise's co-stars would return for "Gilligan's Island" TV movies and spinoffs, she would stay away from the franchise, pursuing other film and TV projects as her whims dictated. Louise's refusal to make more "Gilligan's Island" after 1967 led to persistent rumors that she hated the show and didn't enjoy her time on it. While Louise might have been a little cold to her co-stars, she has revealed that she never resented them for any reason, and actually very much enjoyed her time on "Gilligan's Island."

When Paul Simms, the executive producer behind such comedy hits as “Atlanta” and “What We Do in the Shadows,” first stumbled upon Brian Jordan Alvarez, he wasn’t looking for a new show. Instead, he was wasting time on Twitter when he noticed someone mention the web series “The Gay and Wondrous Life of Caleb Gallo.”

What do Robert Downey Jr., Idris Elba, Lily Gladstone and Maya Rudolph have in common?
These four stars are not only nominees at this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards but are also the sole representatives of their respective series: Downey (supporting actor in a limited series for “The Sympathizer”), Elba (lead drama actor for “Hijack”), Gladstone (supporting actress in a limited series for “Under the Bridge”) and Rudolph (lead comedy actress for “Loot”). While each of these talented actors has a shot at winning, history shows that it’s rare for someone to take home an Emmy when their show has no other nominations.
Over the past four decades, only six actors have won an Emmy as the sole nominee from their show: Louie Anderson (supporting comedy actor for “Baskets” in 2016), Richard Kiley (lead drama actor for “A Year in the Life” in 1987), Regina King (lead actress limited for “Seven Seconds...

FX has picked up half-hour comedy pilot Snowflakes to series for a 2025 premiere. The project was created by The Tonight Show writers Ben Kronengold & Rebecca Shaw, and the order puts the 20-somethings among the youngest series creators, having both graduated from college in 2018.
Snowflakes is a twenty-something ensemble comedy following a group of codependent housemates — — Billie (Lucy Freyer), Samir (Malik Elassal), Anton (Owen Thiele), Issa (Amita Rao) and Paul Baker (Jack Innanen) — trying to be good people, despite being neither “good” nor “people” yet.
On the series, Kronengold and Shaw, who wrote the pilot and serve as executive producers, are partnered with comedy veterans Nick Kroll, Jonathan Krisel, who directed the pilot, and Stefani Robinson.

FX, which is about to say goodbye to one of its comedies, is adding another to its lineup.
The Disney-owned outlet has handed a series order to Snowflakes, an ensemble comedy about “a group of codependent housemates trying to be good people, despite being neither ‘good’ nor ‘people’ yet,” as the show’s logline puts it.
The series, for which FX ordered a pilot in January, comes from FX Productions and writers Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw (The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon). Nick Kroll (who has a first-look deal with FX Productions), Baskets co-creator Jonathan Krisel and Atlanta and What We Do in the Shadows alum Stefani Robinson are among the executive producers. Malik Elassal, Lucy Freyer, Jack Innanen, Amita Rao and Owen Thiele play the five twentysomething housemates.

Giancarlo Esposito is often the best thing about whichever project he appears in. That was certainly the case, for this writer, at least, in “The Mandalorian,” his TV series “Parish,” and, now, the Guy Ritchie Netflix show “The Gentlemen.”
This one is a spin-off of the successful 2019 movie of the same name, which starred Matthew McConaughey and a terrific Hugh Grant. The show focuses on Theo James‘ aristocrat, who inherits his family estate only to find that it is the home of a weed empire. What follows is a classic Ritchie affair, with gangsters and crime members in pursuit of the empire. Esposito appears as a suave, menacing American billionaire named Stanley Johnston, who wants to buy the estate from James’ aristocrat. Esposito once again wields his mesmerizing voice to full effect, delivering the best monologues in the show, in which he calls British aristocracy “the original gangsters.” Critics agree,...

Geneva Robertson-Dworet & Graham Wagner took an original approach to adapting Fallout, while also considering various elements from the source material. Both showrunners had different introductions to the games, highlighting the evolution and appeal of the franchise. The duo is hopeful for a season 2 of the show, emphasizing the challenge of condensing the vast game content into the show.
The crazy and darkly hilarious world of Bethesda's Fallout is finally getting its own adaptation. The show marks the latest in the upward trend of video game adaptations on the small screen, following in the footsteps of HBO's smash hit The Last of Us, Peacock's Twisted Metal, and Netflix's Arcane, among many others. Like recently announced cast member Kumail Nanjiani, Galifianakis’ role in the mystery-comedy series is currently kept under wraps. However, an individual with knowledge of the situation can confirm his character is “integral to the twist and turns of this season’s investigation.”
The three series leads remain Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez as true crime-obsessed neighbors that get caught up in real cases. Additional new faces in Season 4 include Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria and Molly Shannon. Meryl Streep, who first appeared in Season 3, will also reprise her role. Little is known about the upcoming season aside from the fact that the mystery-solving trio will make a trip to Los Angeles before returning to their native New York.

Although not common, it does happen; a main character can be eclipsed by someone who isn’t the nucleus of a show. It happened in Baskets with Louie Anderson's Christine Baskets. It happened with Jaleel White's Steve Urkel in Family Matters. And it happened with King of the Hill's Dale Gribble, voiced by the gone-too-soon Johnny Hardwick.

Jonathan Krisel, I choose you! A sequel to 2019’s live-action film “Pokémon: Detective Pikachu” is in the works at Legendary Entertainment, and the studio is in talks with the “Portlandia” co-creator Krisel to direct, IndieWire has confirmed.
Chris Galletta (“The Kings of Summer”) wrote the script based on the original film directed by Rob Letterman. However, a source tells IndieWire that no other talent deals have closed yet, including for Ryan Reynolds, who voiced the beloved yellow, electric mouse Pokemon in the original film. “Detective Pikachu” also starred Justice Smith, Kathryn Newton, Bill Nighy, Ken Watanabe, Suki Waterhouse, and Rita Ora. Though Deadline, which first reported the news, says Reynolds is still expected to play a part in the sequel.
Though the original film, which was released by Warner Bros., grossed $449 million worldwide, development on a sequel had stalled, with the film’s star Smith at one point even suspecting a follow-up would never happen.

The “Pokémon Detective Pikachu” sequel has finally caught a director.
Jonathan Krisel, co-creator of “Portlandia,” is in negotiations with Legendary Entertainment to direct the sequel to the live-action “Pokémon” movie from 2019. Chris Galletta will write the script.
Krisel co-created, wrote and executive produced IFC’s sketch comedy show “Portlandia,” which starred fellow co-creators Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein in a multitude of oddball situations around Portland, Oregon. He also co-created, wrote and directed FX’s “Baskets,” starring Zach Galifianakis as a rodeo clown. Previously, Galletta wrote the 2013 coming-of-age comedy “The Kings of Summer.”
The original “Pokémon Detective Pikachu” starred Ryan Reynolds as a talking, coffee-loving Pikachu who fancied himself as a Sherlock Holmes. The electric mouse teams up with Tim Goodman, a down-on-his-luck Pokémon trainer played by Justice Smith, to find Tim’s missing dad. The cast included Kathryn Newton, who’s currently starring in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,...

Rob Letterman ("Goosebumps") directed the first film, which finally brought the world of "Pokemon" into live-action. Rather than go with an Ash Ketchum-centric story, Warner Bros. opted to adapt the "Detective Pikachu" video game in a bit of a left-of-center move. It's also one that worked, as the film earned generally favorable reviews...
