The Ghost Footage is another hyper low budget found footage-esque movie which initially had me fairly hopeful.
It tells the story of a man who decides to document the paranormal activity he has been experiencing. It bounces between his current vlog and the footage in question and I have to say I quite liked this format.
Light on cast it essentially revolves entirely around this one guy with his friend getting in on the action on occasion. Both guys do a decent job and it was refreshing not to have your usual twenty-somethings, you know the generic type that you question whether their own mothers could pick them out of a lineup.
Sadly this sub-genre is not only badly overplayed but once you've seen one you tend to have seen them all. Credit where credit is due, the creators did try to do something about that and to a degree manage to sprinkle it with originality.
Unfortunately this doesn't save it, the film gradually falls apart from around the half way mark and as is commonly the case with these films nothing actually happens and nothing is resolved.
I wanted to like this, I really did. But it's flaws are overwhelming. If I could speak straight to the creators I'd say carry on, you're capable but have adopted a movie sub-genre which almost guaranteed your failure.
