Dirty Lies

Weak crime film about an underling who's entrusted with a million dollar necklace, but then loses it. He then has to figure out which of his shady roommates took it, while also trying to survive a couple criminals who invade their domicile. This film felt like one of those awful late 90s Tarantino copycat films that followed "Pulp Fiction" (i.e. "2 Days In The Valley," "Lucky Number Slevin," or any innumerable amount of direct- to-video dreck). Absolutely nothing to recommend here.

I actually quite enjoyed this for a one time watch. It's been a little while since a film sucked me in with its style, writing, plot, and acting. This film held my attention, had me on the edge of my seat, and had me thinking along the way. It was very well cast by all of the lead actors. I was expecting more of a weaker plot and worse acting. But I'm so glad I gave this a chance. I like these kind of Hollywood set crime thrillers and this one entertained me quite well. Free on Tubi if you want to give it a chance. For a low budget, unknown, free movie, I was very in to it. Beau knap was great in The Signal, as well as this.. and Scout Taylor Compton was pretty good here too. Whole cast delivered.
