The Grammy Awards (17.6 million/5.4 rating) aired on CBS last night, but the 2018 telecast was down considerably vs. the 2017 telecast. 

Before that, the red carpet spectacular drew 10 million viewers and a 2.2 rating. 

ABC was the sole network to air original programming as the others opted to duck the competition. 

Surprisingly, Shark Tank (4.3 million/1.1 rating) was on par with its most recent results. 

NBC went with a movie, The Neighbors (1.4 million/0.4 rating), and it failed to draw in much in the way of traction.

As we patiently wait for the release of James Franco’s The Disaster Artist (or at least a 3D version of The Room), we’ll have to get our fill of bobo-auteur Tommy Wiseau via midnight screenings, memes, and reruns of The Neighbors, for those that can stomach it. For example, the below edit from Facebook page core-core brought Wiseau’s The Room character Johnny into the world of Star Wars, where he encountered yet another Mark.

Among those delighted were the comedians of YouTube channel Pistol Shrimps, who decided to take the meme a step further. In their rendition, Wiseau’s now-iconic assertion of innocence is seamlessly interwoven into the Force Awakens epilogue alongside a few more of Wiseau’s greatest hits.

Here, Wiseau’s antagonistic “chip-chip-chip” chicken sounds may very well posit him as a new nemesis. Hey, he’d at least be more interesting than Snoke.

An introductory paragraph for director-writer-star-producer Tommy Wiseau seems redundant, pointless. He is a towering figure in the canon of So-Bad-It’s-Good cinema with his smash cult hit, The Room. Oh Hai Tommy Wiseau. You’re making something of a comeback, aren’t you? Several months back we reported that you were working on a TV sitcom that you had written, directed, and starred in (naturally) called The Neighbors, but that in the same way that you would start throwing around a football and then completely forget about it a moment later, it seemed like that was just a whim.
