For many years, the Hallmark Channel seemed to have a monopoly on the made-for-tv Christmas rom-com subgenre. But as streamers like Netflix continue to become the main source of entertainment for millions of people across the globe, they've been expanding their original offerings to include these silly, saccharine, and undeniably addictive movies that people can't seem to get enough of during the holiday season. Sure, there are some that simply hate-watch these types of stories about high-powered women who visit their humble hometowns for the holidays and decide to give it all up to fall back in love with their now-hunky high school sweethearts who own farms and exclusively wear festive flannels, but there are plenty of people who genuinely, unapologetically love these movies.

Even though we havent hit the peak of the spooky season, the signs are already pointing to the most joyful time of the year. Yes, that sound youre hearing is Mariah Carey engaging in some vocal warm-ups and this week, Netflix has been busy releasing a lineup of holiday-themed trailers fresher than your favorite batch of gingerbread cookies. Today, its Mean Girls and Christian Mingle stars Lacey Chaberts turn in the official teaser for her upcoming film, Hot Frosty. In your classic star-crossed-lovers tale but with a holiday twist, Chaberts character finds herself falling in love with a snowman whose time on this Earth is threatened by rising temperatures.

But now, the queen of the small-screen rom-com is switching gears by associating herself with Hallmark's top competitor, Great American Pure Flix.
The faith-based streamer -- who would probably benefit from a catchier name -- announced today that it's acquired Chabert's 2014 film based on the Christian Mingle dating service.
The movie, titled -- you guessed it! -- Christian Mingle follows a formula that's probably pretty familiar to Hallmark fans.
But this is Pure Flix, baby! And that means there's be a religious twist on the usual tropes.
"In Christian Mingle, a marketing executive Gwyneth (Chabert) tries to find Mr. Right through a Christian dating service," reads a press release.
"When her plans go awry, Gwyneth opens her heart to more spiritual pursuits and accidentally finds Paul Wood (Moore...

Corbin Bernsen wrote and directed the Home Theater Films production about a woman who hits the dating scene and learns to realise her true worth through her faith.
Chris Aronoff and Bernsen produce the film, which stars Lacey Chabert, Jonathan Patrick Moore, Morgan Fairchild and David Keith.
Premiere Entertainment Group will be at Mipcom representing international rights.
