Miramax Films’ musical fantasy comedy Ella Enchanted will officially be heading to a brand-new streaming home soon. The 2004 movie was led by Academy Award-winner Anne Hathaway in one of her earliest movie roles, following the success of 2001’s The Princess Diaries.

Beginning on March 6, Ella Enchanted will be available for streaming on Prime Video. In the film, Hathaway portrayed the titular role of Ella, a young woman whose fairy godmother granted her the magical gift of obedience. This ability requires her to immediately obey any command she has been given. However, as she grows up, this so-called gift proves to be more of a curse than a blessing, since it gives anyone the power to take advantage of her. During its theatrical run, it received negative reviews from critics and fans of the novel, with a Tomatometer rating of 51% on Rotten Tomatoes. This was due to its lack of faithfulness from the original source material.

A series adaptation of “Crazy Rich Asians” is in development at Max. Adele Lim, who co-wrote the 2018 film, has been set as showrunner and executive producer, while director Jon M. Chu will also return to executive produce.

Like the film, the TV project is based on Kevin Kwan’s book series of the same name. “Crazy Rich Asians” was published in 2013, followed by “China Rich Girlfriend” in 2015 and “Rich People Problems” in 2017. Kwan executive produced Lim and Chu’s 2018 film and will also executive produce the Max series, for which Warner Bros TV is the studio.

It is not yet known whether the series will feature returning cast members from the film.

Hathaway reunites with her “The Idea of You” director Michael Showalter for the feature, which is written by “The Act” and “A Friend of the Family” creator Nick Antosca.

“Verity” centers on struggling writer Lowen Ashleigh, who agrees to complete the remaining books in a successful series that bestselling thriller author Verity Crawford is unable to finish after a mysterious accident. Hathaway will play the reclusive titular Verity, whose latest unfinished manuscript includes chilling admissions about Verity and her family’s past. The Lord of the Rings and Indiana Jones star appeared in the sequel released in 2004 as Viscount Mabrey, a member of Genovia's parliament who plots to steal the crown. To do so, Mabrey tries to manipulate his nephew, Nicholas (Chris Pine), to claim his place on the Throne, before pivoting to embroil Princess Mia (Anne Hathaway) in scandal. Since then, Princess Diaries 3 has been confirmed, although it's in its early development.

Despite his scheme being exposed to Genovia and his public disowning, Rhys-Davies revealed to Collider that he not only defends his character but hopes to bring him back to try once more to seize power. Christopher Nolan’s next film is getting even more star-studded. Anne Hathaway and Zendaya are set to join the cast of Nolan’s next movie set at Universal, IndieWire has confirmed.

Tom Holland and Matt Damon are already set to lead the film, which is untitled and has plot details so far kept tightly under wraps. The film is, however, meant to arrive in theaters on July 17, 2026 in IMAX.

James Gray, the director of “Ad Astra,” has revealed his next film, an original screenplay and crime drama called “Paper Tiger.”

Gray’s latest film, his ninth feature, will star Adam Driver and will reunite him with his stars from 2022’s “Armageddon Time,” Jeremy Strong and Anne Hathaway.

“Paper Tiger” is described as a tense and gritty story about two brothers pursuing the American Dream, only to become entangled in a scheme that turns out to be too good to be true. As they try to navigate their way through an ever-more dangerous world of corruption and violence, they find themselves and their family brutally terrorized by the Russian “Mafiya.”

The film is being launched to buyers at next week’s AFM, with CAA Media Finance handling U.S. rights and Vincent Maraval and Kim Fox’s The Veterans handling international sales. The worldwide rights to the film are available.
