All Hallows' Eve 4 : Inferno

This collection of short films was a pleasure for me to watch, appealing to my enjoyment of the psychological aspects of horror. Be aware this will have a far different tone from the Terrifier/Art the Clown installments, but that's what I really dug about this. Especially the first two installments.

The first concerning a man trying to use lucid dreaming to control his nightmares, very well crafted film.

And the second, "Hammurabi," plays like an episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents in that while suspenseful and horrific everything that transpires is realistic. There are no supernatural elements here, simply human retribution but meted out in the most unique way possible. The method used to play out this scenario is deliciously different and effective.

Not all of the other segments work as well but they definitely all have their enjoyable moments. A couple of them give us insight into the folk horror of other cultures.

Based on the strength of the first two alone I give this a little higher ranking than I might have otherwise, but you deserve to see this if you're a fan of good storytelling and good filmmaking.

You never go wrong with a film that has producer Steve Barton attached to it.
