I hardly don't know what to think about this Italian crime movie, which makes me think of all those made by the British film industry during the 2000's, and also American ones, under heavy influence of Quentin Tarantino and Guy Ritchie. This Italian film is also a tribute, I think, to the PIDGEON, Mario Monicelli's most known feature. But it is certainly not a comedy, no, it is dark, bleak, with nothing comic at all in the end. But there are too many characters, no lead, and all those characters don't seem that interesting to me. But it's not a bad movie, unfortunately I had the greatest difficulties to get into it. A very personnal directing from the film maker, who tried to mix up several genres. Why not? A heist film? Hmmmm yes, if you wish.
No pun intended - I don't know if this is based on anything true, but life can be stranger than fiction, so there is that. Obviously crime can pay - but in the long run it mostly goes south (not a geographical pun, this being Italian and all that) in real life ... of course this is a movie, so it could end up in a different direction.
I won't take anything away when it comes to that, but I can tell you it does have some interesting ideas and the characters .. well they are just that: quite the characters ... funny, sad but colorful for sure. Take one of the ones who gets visited at the end of the movie ... in his bathrobe ... this looks funny and feels funny ... but you get a feeling that there is something sinister that might happen ... will it though? You'll see ... suspension of disbelief is necessary.
