Exclusive: QC Entertainment, the company behind Get Out and BlacKkKlansman, has completed the Victoria, BC shoot on horror film The Casket Girls with four major additions to the cast: Mike Colter (Evil), Raúl Castillo (Smile 2), Matt Frewer (Perry Mason), and Thomas Lennon (Reno 911!).
As previously announced, Gabrielle Union leads the ensemble. Lennon also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Robert Ben Garant, his partner on Night at the Museum and numerous other projects, with revisions by Keith Cooper (Anything for Jackson) & Justin Dyck (Anything for Jackson), who directed the film.
The Casket Girls is inspired by true events involving a group of young women sent from France to New Orleans to become brides to French colonists in the early 1700s. Canadian film director Justin Dyck, who is best known for helming the critically acclaimed supernatural horror film Anything for Jackson, has set his next horror project. It's a movie called William, and we shared everything we know so far about it below.
William is being described as a sci-fi horror film. It's based on bestselling author Andrew Pyper's (Mason Coile) horror novel of the same name, which was optioned by Aperture Entertainment. The book was released back in September, and it's currently available to purchase on Amazon as a hardcover or eBook at different prices.
Dyck is signed on to direct the William film adaptation. He's currently working on another horror film as well. It's a movie called The Casket Girls starring Gabrielle Union. Pyper will co-write the screenplay for William with Chris Sivertson. In addition, principal photography is to take place in Canada. However, a production start date is unknown at the moment.

Justin G. Dyck has almost 40 directing credits to his name, and most of those credits have been on TV movie romances with titles like Christmas Wedding Planning, Christmas with a View, A Very Country Wedding, and Art of Falling in Love… but recently, Dyck has been shifting gears. In 2020, he brought us the supernatural horror movie Anything for Jackson (pictured above), which was released through the Shudder streaming service. He went on to contribute to episodes of Shudder’s Creepshow series. Last month, we heard he will be directing the horror film The Casket Girls, starring Gabrielle Union. In the wake of 2020’s must-watch Shudder Original Anything for Jackson, director Justin Dyck will return with new horror movie William, officially announced by Deadline today.
Dyck will adapt the same-titled novel from author Andrew Pyper, which was optioned by Aperture Entertainment. The novel was released this past September by Putnam.
