"Reapers" directed by and starring Justin Price, with notable performances by Danny Trejo and Amin Joseph, is a 2024 sci-fi action film that takes viewers on a supernatural journey across the United States, Japan, and Germany. The narrative centers on Zion (Justin Price), a resurrected soul collector on a perilous mission to save his wife. Along the way, he confronts ghouls, demons, and engages in deadly bargains with Death, all while striving to prevent a powerful briefcase from falling into malevolent hands.
The film's international filming locations enrich its visual appeal, offering a diverse backdrop that enhances the storytelling. Danny Trejo delivers a compelling performance as The Wanderer, bringing his signature intensity to the role. Amin Joseph, known for his work in "Snowfall," adds depth to the ensemble cast, though specific details about his character are less prominent.
I personally loved its unique blend of supernatural action and drama. For fans of the genre, the film offers a distinctive experience that intertwines supernatural elements with action-packed sequences.

It is not worth the time spent. Don't waste yours, as I did. It is way too fragmented, with too many separate characters and scenes, that you cannot logically connect. Add to the negative scoreboard the fact that there are too many types of characters and places that are left unexplained - Reapers, descendants, ghouls, Elysium... Without proper explanation of origin and connections the whole story does not make sense.
Some scenes leave the feeling they were cut off . Acting is below average.
The ending is also unsatisfactory, as if this is just part one.
If you are going to build such fantasy world, you need to give more time to people to get familiar with the stage, characters and explain why the F everything is happening.

As the writer\director of this film I want to say thank you to everyone involved. I did this during the pandemic with some amazing people , some who are no longer here. A few parts are zoomed in and scenes cut because of that and this is also a part 1, so more to come -- it has been a dream of mine since I was a child to travel to Japan, Iceland, Germany, and France and to capture those amazing cultures in this film...what a blessing. Ty for your support and energy Hard Matter is my first feature film but this is my first love. I truly hope you enjoy the vibes and energy and go and watch I heart robots if you haven't already.
Before i wach this one, i've had a look at the score of the movie and 8.6 was a big surprise for me. I knew, it won't be a great movie, but i expected at least a good one. I honestly was'n enjoying a single minute of what i see on the screen. The fight scenes were bad and very unprofecionaly performed. The actors were reacting as they were never on the set and like filming for a short movie for a social media. The movie itself is like taken on a cheap hand camera. I reminded myself the score of the movie and pushed myself to watch further. I tried, really hard, but couldn't wach till the middle.
