Exclusive: The Viola Davis kickass spy movie G20 has pulled in more than 50 million worldwide Prime Video viewers since its April 10 launch. We understand that number makes the Patricia Riggen-directed movie one of Amazon MGM Studios’ 10 most-watched action films of all time on the service.

Backing up Amazon’s viewership is the fact that the movie also landed at No. 1 on Nielsen’s movie chart during it debut week with 516 million minutes streamed.

In addition, G20 over-indexed with women on Prime Video. Amazon MGM has had a strong of female-led movies including Maintenance Required, starring Madelaine Petsch; The Map That Leads to You, starring Madelyn Cline and Kj Apa; We Were Liars, starring Emily Alyn Lind, which premiered June 18; and the third and final season of The Summer I Turned Pretty, which will premiere July 16.

Ashley Benson, Emily Alyn Lind, Madelaine Petsch and Sadie Stanley have been tapped for the lead roles in “Pretty Babies,” an indie female friendship drama written and directed by Tyler-Marie Evans, who makes her feature debut.

Set to enter production later this summer, the film follows two teenage girls who run away to Hollywood, chasing stardom, but their dreams lead them into prostitution, trapping them in the dark underbelly of the sex work industry as they travel from Texas to California.

“’Pretty Babies’ is a love letter to Old Hollywood. We’re pushing into something new with this script, and

that excitement has been palpable from the start, and something felt by every collaborator,” said Evans.

Christine Vachon from Killer Films is producing, alongside Jordan Wagner from Wagner Entertainment. Benson will produce. Amanda Larney of Killer Films is associate producing.

Exclusive: Inanna Sarkis, Gregg Sulkin, Timothy Granaderos and Paris Berelc (Alexa & Katie) are set to star in survival thriller Ascent by Adam Green.

The production, which is set to begin shooting in Malta later this month, follows a group of friends attending a destination wedding in Europe who find themselves stranded on a hot air balloon 3,000 feet above the ground.

“I’m incredibly excited to be returning to the survival thriller genre,” said Green. “Ascent’s story about a recreational activity gone terribly wrong is going to play with people’s real life fears and be a total thrill ride for the audience.”

The film is being produced by Simple House Films’ and is the first title to be sold under its recently announced international sales unit, spearheaded by Anastazja Bankowska.

Katy O'Brian, who has broken out in a big way in the last 18 months, and Outer Banks star Madison Bailey are the latest to sign on to star in the romantic comedy Maintenance Required, produced by Future Artists Entertainment, Luber Roklin Entertainment, and Amazon MGM Studios, according to a report by Deadline. They join previously announced cast members Madelaine Petsch and Jacob Scipio. The film, which is currently shooting, also features Inanna Sarkis, comedian Matteo Lane, and Emmy-nominated actor Jim Gaffigan.

Exclusive: Madelaine Petsch (The Strangers: Chapter 1) and Jacob Scipio (Bad Boys: Ride or Die) have been tapped to star in Maintenance Required, a new romantic comedy for Future Artists Entertainment, Luber Roklin Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios, on which Petsch will also serve as an executive producer.

Currently in production, the film follows Charlie (Petsch), who is forced to reconsider the viability of her beloved all-female mechanic shop. Seeking connection on an online car forum, little does she know her confidant, Beau (Scipio), is in fact her real-life business rival.

Luber Roklin and Future Artists developed the script for Amazon, placing first-time feature director Lacey Uhlemeyer at the helm. Author Erin Falconer (How to Break Up with Your Friends) wrote the script with Uhlemeyer, Roo Berry, and Luke Roberts. Future Artists Entertainment’s Matt Williams will produce alongside Lena Roklin and Matt Luber of Luber Roklin Entertainment, with Petsch as EP.
