Very enjoyable movie to watch, great actors

I a great movie to watch for a couple of hours during the weekend, or a win down before bed. The acting is solid and I am dang tired of the crap they are putting out these days. The blow up and outs, the screaming, head-banging music, the gore! I really enjoyed this. Family friendly, overall. I don't have to be a pretend professional critic snubbing my nose at a perfectly fine film. I just like it. Thanks for reading. :)

Watchable!

But clearly written with only the women in mind. "Jane" doesnt have the support of any male police officer, her husband or father/step father when she makes her accusation against a surgeon who she believes is the one she saw on the bank, having killed her mum. The killer only knew the woman briefly, but you could miss that bit. The investigating officer who gets involved is also female and the interesting ending has a woman bringing the killer to justice. How its done, given all thats gone before is the interesting bit of the piece. Better, several years later than perhaps it was when released simply as there isnt much like this on freeview these days. The locations are very nice, although some are in Eire!

Did i miss it?

I dont think i drank too much whilst watching this, but I dont think we got a reason for the murder?! I enjoyed it, but with no reason for a brutal murder, i cant mark it any higher.

Watchable although nothing to write home about.

I can't help thinking the writers of this drama happened upon the interesting fact that gives the end its twist and decided to write a 'what if' story so that they could present us with said interesting fact. The plot and characters were hugely undeveloped. There is no reason given for the murder of Jane's mother. Everyone seems to have moved on with their lives and its hard to feel invested in any of the characters. Having said all that it is a pretty decent British drama with some wonderful actors in it so not a waste of time watching at all. I'm just disappointed that the story wasn't fleshed out more, that there wasn't some surprising twist uncovering the events surrounding the murder and telling us why it happened - It could have been gripping.

Well acted mini mini series..

Mini? It was over before we knew it. One disk, 2 episodes. That's it. We bought the series to see Claire Goose, an actress we enjoyed in the long-running WAKING THE DEAD. Also included is Peter Firth of MI-5 fame, and veteran player, Pippa Haywood, as a sympathetic detective.

Claire plays Jane Phillips, a young wife and mother whose own mom was mysteriously murdered over 2 decades before. While having a physical, she notices a doctor who looks like the killer and reports him. No one believes her - except one cop, who will be furloughed shortly (Pippa). We initially have our doubts, especially when a DNA test meets with unexpected results.

An interesting show-however, typically a true mini-series runs 4 hours-this one was less than 2. I had this series sent from the UK for a premium price. There was certainly room for more character & plot development, but I will credit the writers for coming up with a fresh twist on Forensics (one that sent us scurrying to the WWW for verification).

Just ok

Well enough acted but over in less than 2 hours seemed a bit short. And there was no motive given for a brutal murder!!!

An underrated drama from ITV.

A young girl witnesses the death of her mother, twenty five years later she believes she's spotted her killer.

I thoroughly enjoyed this two part series, you just know if ITV were making this now, it would have been six or eight parts. This shorter running time means that it's very well paced, it moves along quickly, and satisfies all round.

The story is a good one, there is some originality to it. The acting is great, Peter Firth and Claire Goose are excellent, the standout for me is Christine Bottomley, who is terrific.

Nicely made, well produced, I'm glad it was recently repeated, as I'd missed it first time around. I preferred the second part to the first.

A very good watch, 8/10.

Good stuff!

Pippa Haywood makes any show worth watching, and this one is no exception. Quite gripping story. I felt for Jane, when her own husband, instead of supporting her, didn't believe her, and left her. All in all well worth watching, and a thousand percent better than the crap on TV now.

Fantastic

Well recommended. Gripping from start to finish. Great acting, a definite must watch in my opinion & I struggle to watch much that keeps me interested.
