The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has announced the winners for its third annual Children's & Family Emmy Awards. The event took place March 15 at Television City in Los Angeles and streamed live on TheEmmys.TV app.

Meryl Streep (Storyline Online) won the award for Best Children's Personality, after previously taking home three Primetime Emmys for Holocaust (1978), Angels in America (2004), and Five Came Back (2017). She is a three-time Oscar winner for Kramer vs. Kramer (1979), Sophie's Choice (1982), and The Iron Lady (2011), which means she now has more overall Emmys than Oscars.

Other big-name champions included Christian Slater (The Spiderwick Chronicles) for Best Lead Performer in a Preschool, Children's, or Young Teen Program; Jacob Tremblay (Orion and the Dark) for Best Younger Voice Performer in a Preschool, Children's or Young Teen Program category; Phoenix Laroche (The Velveteen Rabbit) for Best Younger Performer in a Preschool, Children's or Young Teen Program; and Leslie Carrara-Rudolph...

Nights is hoping to light up the animation world.

An animated series based on the Image Comics horror title is in development from Titmouse, the company known for the Netflix animated series Big Mouth. Nights writer Wyatt Kennedy and artis Luigi Formisano will be involved in the adaptation.

Nights launched last year, and is a supernatural coming-of-age story taking place in a 2003 in which supernatural creatures exist alongside humans, and America is made up of just 31 states. It launched with a 12-issue arc called “Season One.”

Titmouse creative director Alexei Bochenek called Nights a “generational experience in the making.”

The UK’s Wild Child Animation and Hoho Entertainment are developing Toad & Friends,an animated feature adaptation of Kenneth Grahame’s classic British novelThe Wind In The Willows, supported by Screen Scotland.

The CG-animated film will be written by Ciaran Murtagh and Andrew Barnett-Jones, the writing duo who go under the name The Black Sheep.

The production will feature the characters from the original novel of Toad, Mole, Badger and Ratty, plus new female characters Hedge, Tinker, Heron and Adder.

The three actors have been cast in director Adam Rifkin’s psychedelic stoner comedy Toad, joining previously announced cast members Katt Williams, Craig Robinson, James Paxton, and Oliver Wyman.

Exclusive: Comedian Katt Williams is boarding Adam Rifkin’s trippy road-trip comedy Toad opposite James Paxton (Twisters) and Oliver Wyman (Feeling Randy).

The pic follows two dudes who are hired by terrifying crime boss, Charles (Craig Robinson), to transport a box of contraband psychedelic toads from L.A. to Vegas. When the soaring desert temperatures cause the toads to suffer heatstroke, the two imbeciles are inadvertently dosed when they give the toads CPR and suddenly find themselves on a hallucinogenic odyssey.

Williams will play Earl, a cigar-chomping, human-size anthropomorphic toad who may or may not be a figment of the boys’ imaginations. Earl pops up at key points along their journey to give them unsolicited but much-needed advice and philosophical wisdom.

Via Variety, the first nomination is for Voice Directing For an Animated Series, which will go up against Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, Marvel's Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, Monsters at Work, and Young Love. Next, the series is in the running for Music Direction and Composition for an Animated Program, running against Frog and Toad, Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai, Looney Tunes Cartoons, and Orion and the Dark.

The third nomination is Editing For a Preschool Animated Program, going against Frog and Toad, StoryBots: Answer Time, StoryBots: Super Silly Stories With Bo, and The Tiny Chef Show.
