Truly a beautiful depiction of life

I have not had a tv show or movie make me cry in years-whether it be tears of joy or sadness. This show has the perfect formula of both. I was skeptical when I started the first episode, assuming based off cast, plot, and visuals that it would unfold like a B rated Lifetime show/movie, but I'm glad to say I was wrong. This show is raw, beautiful, and simple... real. That's what life is, in the summary of it all. I truly do not want to spoil anything, so I will keep this close to the chest, yet informative enough to persuade an interested audience to give it a chance. This is a beautifully, well written, and emotional roller coaster of real life without all the heavy stuff most shows give us today to top eachother, or the lack of emotional depth. The music is by far my favorite that I've heard in many years on any show/movie. Media. I constantly found myself falling into the perfect song for the moment it played in/during. I hope it receives the recognition it deserves. Most of the time in a show, there needs to be a certain level of relatability for us to be intrigued or stick with it, but get lost throughout parts based off the overflow of everything it tries to feed us. This show somehow finds the perfect balance of relatability, heaviness, and reality without all the fluff in between or feeling empty. I am very picky when it comes to what I watch l, and doubted this watching the commercial and first little bit of episode 1, but luckily I stuck with it because of the positive reviews on here. I just hope someone sees this, has the desire to watch it, and experiences a positive viewing like I did.

Spectacular!!

Ripple matches the quality of This is Us! I loved how these characters lives are all intertwined, though it was easy to follow and had a great flow. Not a single plot-hole. This one's easy to binge-watch.

I was disappointed that there weren't more episodes. Please bring this show on for multiple seasons!!

I LOVE this show

This is a great feel-good show. It shows life's challenges people face and how our lives get intrinsically connected. Much better than the violent crime shows that fill the channels. I can't wait to see the next episode, but I try to spread them out and not binge. It's an uplifting show, which seems to be a rarity now days.

A Show To Fall In Love With

This is an honest look at life on the backdrop of New York City, but it's not a story about New York City. It's about family, friendship, love and loss. It's not romanticized, but it's not too tragic. It's happy, and sad at the same time. It deals with life's difficult moments in a very realistic way. It's about birth families, and the friends that become your family. I really believe that this will touch everyone who watches it. I laughed, cried, and really rooted for all four of the main characters, but the other characters added a necessary depth to the story.

I really hope it gets season 2 because there's a lot of story that still needs to be shared.

New Fave...Make Season Two Happen NOW

Ripple is a series about hope and developing a found family among would-be strangers. I relate to this quite personally and if there's ever been a time to promote hope and community, it's now. Aria's music is a total bonus - release her album please!!! I binge watched it in one sitting (!), I'm totally hooked. Please make a Season 2.

If sweet syrup were a TV series

The stories unfold with such mechanical predictability that any promise of genuine intrigue evaporates almost immediately. What follows is a relentless procession of syrupy feel-good moments and contrived bursts of "tension," stacked so closely together they begin to feel suffocating rather than moving. The emotional beats are laid on so thick-and so often-that instead of drawing you in, they leave you gasping for a gulp of fresh, clean air, longing for a narrative that trusts its readers enough not to force-feed every sentiment.

Easy watch

I am enjoying this show. It's light and refreshing. Nothing violent or complicated. The characters are relatable and likable. I am hoping to see the connections and to continue to enjoy the ride. Human nature is portrayed with some depth although nothing mysterious or unexpected. I'll continue this joy ride but not memorable.

Clean, simple story of intersecting lives...

First this show has no language or s*x. (but i'm a bit confused of the reviewer that said it was over the top/pushing religion because I found very little about religion, except for one gay religious character) The show is about the lives of several people that start to intersect. The characters cross paths and start to form connections and friendships. The writing is simple and the pace/buildup is slow to average, almost like a Hallmark movie, BUT very sad and not tied up with a neat little bow at the end. The acting was average with a few standouts. The characters and writing can be frustrating at times, but there are some touching moments. Be warned that it leaves unanswered questions with an ambiguous ending, as the creator planned for a second season, but Netflix has not officially renewed the show as of yet (but fans are actively campaigning for season 2) In summary don't expect an Emmy worthy show, or a 10 as some rated, but it's a nice little show to pass the time... 6.5 stars IMHO!

This Is Us, This is NOT

The lives of various demographical characters intertwining in the heart of New York City.

NY offers a lovely backdrop, but a highly predictable show that spouts soppy emotion more freely than the wine flowing from the bar that acts as the main venue for the drama.

I use the word drama lightly, as the storyline doesnt allow any scenario enough time to develop before the clichés arrive. Most of the characters are likable enough to keep you intrigued as to how their lives pan out and the show seems to rely on emotional human connections rather than any modern day technology.

The backdrop of New York is what saves the show and its pretty light hearted with no vulgarity, violence or criminality. If you're into heartfelt, hallmark, soft emotional viewing, then its worth a crack as each episode is only 40 mins and its steady paced enough not to drag.

Title: "A Surprisingly Satisfying Series with Real, Relatable Characters"

Ripple is one of those shows that pulls you in before you even realize it. What I loved most is how real the characters feel-their reactions, struggles, and small everyday moments make them easy to connect with. Nothing feels forced or overdone. It's honestly refreshing.

The pacing is smooth and satisfying, with each episode adding another layer instead of dragging things out. The show balances emotion and tension beautifully, and every storyline pays off in a meaningful way.

The acting is strong, the writing is thoughtful, and by the time you finish a few episodes, you really feel like you know these people. It's been a long time since a show felt this genuine.

If you're looking for something that's heartfelt, engaging, and surprisingly addictive, Ripple is absolutely worth.

Like a Lifetime movie

I love all things NYC, and this show has a high rating, so I thought I'd give it a go. It is fun to see the city in the background. However, the acting and writing really stink. I'm embarrassed for the actors. The older black gentleman is believable and likable, but almost everyone else is just really bad. It just seems like overall low quality. It's interesting to me that people are liking it. These are not my people.

Real Humanity at its finest

Loved this show. A refreshing break from the cop shows, heist shows, creep shows, shooting, stabbing, killing, hating, damning "adventure" dramas that seem to dominate streaming and network productions these days. This show is filled with love and respect and positivity. If you can't find something in this that doesn't make you feel great about being alive, well, you are just not human and need to seek professional help. On top of that, it's about real life. Well acted and produced. I hope this type of entertainment expands because with all the hate being propagated in our lives, we could all use some love and compassion for what we are all going through.

LOVE!

This is so well written and the acting is top tier. Some of the actors were completely unknown to me, but everyone fits. Everything about this show just works so well. I have been reluctant to watch the last two episodes of the season because I don't want this magic to end. I don't even have any other words...just, LOVE!

Beautiful writing!

I loved the meaning of hope, love and joy and reality all bundled up in this show. I think it should be another season because of so many stories that can continue. Many times it was sad but that is life and that what this show portrays. No fancy blockbuster but just a caring meaningful production that the entire world could use now.

Poor Acting Terrible script

Some of the reviews that state this is spectacular and amazing makes me think that people that are involved with the show has left a review, tbh this show is so predictable, the acting was terrible apart from the young girl who had cancer Finn and Walter and the girl who worked in the bar , it was trying too hard to be emotional and sad etc but again it was over the top,the guy who played nayte was so bad at acting that it was painful and frustrating to watch. Some may like it , my wife didn't mind it but personally I found it frustrating to watch.

I want more!!!

This is sooo good! My husband & I both love it. Definitely has adult content but the relationships between all the characters are wonderful. Following how each character is connected to the other is delightful and just makes me happy. All the different story lines are engaging, interesting and draw us in as though we're a part of their lives. I'm looking forward to watching the next season and hope it comes out soon. This would be the perfect stormy weekend binge watch. A must see if you like heartfelt dramas!

FANTASTIC!

This is exactly the type of series I needed in my life. I am hooked! I binged all 8 episodes and couldn't wait to see what happens next. They intertwine in such clever ways and it makes me think about the ripples in life that have affected me personally. Netflix - we need a season two PLEASE!!! Love these characters!!

Hoping for Season 2!

I've watched the series twice now and I think what makes it great is the humanity and depth of every character. I've read some lower reviews that say it's too sweet somehow, and all I can say to those folks is I'm sorry they haven't had the type of found family relationships that this show explores (and appears to set up for further exploration in future episodes.) Ripple does a great job of looking for and finding the decency in all of its characters while also allowing them to be flawed people as well. Here's hoping Season 2 is in the works!

Honestly soooo good.

When the yanks get it right, they really nail it. A tad too predictable for a 10, but it's quality storytelling with some nice NYC and London locations and some solid acting. Warning - cliffhanger ending. For I assume season 2, if there isn't a season 2 it could stand alone, but I'd love to see more.

Everything happens for a reason...

A very good show, it's cute and pleasant. It does feel like the inspiration has been taken from This Is Us but, it's not as genuine and not as natural. I found the ripples or meetings felt forced at times. It's got its fair share of 'keeping everyone happy' but everything does these days! Some scenes pull you in and then just move on, maybe more will be revisited in a second series. The acting is fine, the characters are all lovely, the acoustic music is effective. I have to admit I don't fully get the time spans between scenes or 'Ripples' but how close people become in what feels like a short time doesn't quite feel right. It feels like everyone who 'ends up' in the bar are a close family all of a sudden. But maybe... I just go to the wrong bars!! Anyway, I would definitely recommend Ripples if you have heart and an open mind just remember everything happens for a reason and somethings are written in just to tug on your heart (or written on a notice board!)Everything happens for a reason... or does it!

Ripple

Absolutely love Ripple! I cannot believe how much I could relate. It's a tearjerker for sure, but also has depth, humor, and great acting. Each episode got better in my opinion and the character's seem real and not too glitzy Hollywood, which is really refreshing in these times. Just goes to show that you don't need to have every other word start with F, not that I'm against it occasionally because it's real, and there doesn't need to be graphic violence in order to make for a compelling story.

I am hoping for a second season! Thank you for this high quality entertainment!

Could be much better

The music overlays during poignant scenes renders the scene cheap and canned. When I have a significant moment with a friend, lover, or family member, there's no music overlay - just honesty. The actors are excellent in their character portrayals and the dialogue is well written. The music played over heartfelt scenes renders the entire scene cheap and detracts from the honesty of the moment.
