Husband, Father, Killer: The Alyssa Pladl Story

Gross true story

The storyline was intricately woven and profoundly disturbing, drawing the audience deep into a surreal and hauntingly dark environment. The cast's performances were not only captivating but also executed with remarkable precision, showcasing their extraordinary talent. I have a soft spot for true-story lifetime movies; they have a unique ability to blend realism with dramatic flair, making them my preferred choice for film entertainment. This film was enjoyable while also being dark and twisted and sick! I hope no one goes through this ever and that the other daughters and ex-wife live happily.

Well..

Yes! May contain spoilers,as many parts were bothersome.

1. Steven & Alyssa give up their daughter, because of his issues. Why didn't she leave? Instead of bringing, two more children into such toxicity.. Despite conditions not changing years later Katie comes for a two week visit, her adoptive parents kind of were too relaxed on things that unfolded.

2. They reunite with Katie & Steven gets jealous,he turns Katie against her biological mom.. He ends up having inappropriate relations & gets his, biological daughter pregnant.

3. Eventually they get in trouble for these actions, despite her age over her biological father's.. The father goes to jail, the baby is removed by child services & Katie goes back to living with her adoptive family.

4. Now this is where it doesn't make sense; The baby goes to Steven's family not Katie despite him being in Jail or having anger issues plus a restraining order by Alyssa.

5. When he's released from Jail gets upset over Katie not wanting him back so he kills their baby,Katie and himself.

All that I thought.. Why did someone being sexual with anger history, especially to his daughter that just became 18 was allowed near his infant unsupervised & so forth.

I'm glad Alyssa had a happy ended but what a mess in a way she created, when she didn't leave- especially after Steven was putting their daughter in a cooler to shut her up from crying.

Worth a watch, but felt anger towards Alyssa as much as Steven.

Acting Matters

I read about the story and wanted to watch it play out in the screen. However, the acting, script and directing was abysmal. They should have stayed away from telling it from, the least significant person in the situation, the mom's angle. This could have been great but it falls dramatically flat from every aspect.

In reference to the script, it was forced. It was like the writer was trying to reach a minimal word count, ironically, like I have been forced to for this review. The acting, or lack thereof, was even more sufferable than the script. The lead actress always looked like she was getting a root canal.
