very dark and atmospheric

Not convinced this one really hits the mark it is very dark and atmospheric and yes they were taken or got themselves to a place where things could not really work out very well for them it seems to me overall still to be a demolition job on the reasons why people decide to join a group of humans who have decided on a society they wish to see put in existence which is completely alien to every and all standards acceptable in Western society the fact that these women are going to see warriors and that these warriors turn out to be brutal most of the time is not really very surprising is it after all they are living a life of brutality in their daily

i have seen Megan Northam in different films and she's an astounding actress with incredible presence and that again is here but it seems to me that she was miscast in this one i don't really see her in this as plausible she has a quality of feistiness about her which is visible in all the other films she has been in and series

Saw her a year or two ago in an incredibly brilliant series set in Athens Salade grecque (2023) in which she was perfectly cast here not so much but she has just been rewarded with a César in France (see Wiki under César_Award_for_Best_Female_Revelation)

As regards Madame here Lubna Azabal she is astoundingly good in this to me she really portrays the role she was given to a tee

The music in the film is excellent and really underpins every moment in a clever way enhances everything just exactly what film music should do the film feels a little unpolished around the edges in the end this film like the reasons the deep reasons which lead people to go to these places and choose that life are not really addressed it seems to be more of a oh look bad idea bad idea bad idea kind of thing so there's a sort of entirely Western reading of ultimately the characters and the choices made falling short of the mark would be my impression here. Filmed in France and Jordan if you are wondering. Also if wondering The Arabic name "Rabia" means "spring" or "fourth female" (feminine of "fourth"), and is also associated with the fourth month of the Islamic calendar. In Spanish the same word means rage ...
