Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’ Adds Olivia Thirlby

Exclusive: Olivia Thirlby is joining the star-studded cast of Christopher Nolan’s feature film Oppenheimer.

Oppenheimer is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bird and the late Martin J. Sherwin. Cillian Murphy stars as Oppenheimer, the theoretical physicist whose work on the Manhattan Project led to the creation of the atomic bomb. Details with regard to the characters Denham and Zuckerman are playing have not been disclosed. Nolan is directing from his own screenplay and producing alongside Emma Thomas and Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven. Pic hits theaters on July 21, 2023. Production is taking place in New Mexico, California and New Jersey.

Shoreline boards time-travel romance

Exclusive: Thomas Hennessy to direct Another Time.

Morris Ruskin’s Los Angeles-based Shoreline Entertainment has boarded worldwide rights heading into Cannes on time-travel romance Another Time.

The story centres on a man who falls for a woman who is already engaged. With the help of a disgraced scientist he travels on a journey back in time before she meets her fiancé.

Justin Hartley, one of the stars on NBC show This Is Us who will star in Bad Moms Christimas, stars with Arielle Kebbel, Chrishell Stause and James Kyson.

Thomas Hennessy directs from a screenplay he co-wrote with Scott Kennard.

“We are excited to represent this film and are eager to share it with audiences all over the world,” Ruskin said.

Shoreline’s Melody Djavadi negotiated the deal with producer Alan Pietruszewski.

The company will also be tempting buyers in the Croisette with worldwide rights to crime drama The White Orchid.

Exclusive: Bogart Estate managers serve as executive producers on Cannes-bound drama.

Shoreline Entertainment heads to the Croisette with worldwide rights to Olivia Thirlby drama The White Orchid.

John Carroll Lynch and Jennifer Beals also star in the story of a shy social services investigator in California who is assigned to a local law enforcement officer to solve the murder of a mysterious blonde.

Steve Anderson wrote and directed The White Orchid for the Humphrey Bogart Estate’s Santana Films production company.

Bogart Estate managers Robbert de Klerk and Stephen Bogart, the son of Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall, serve as executive producers.

“The Humphrey Bogart Estate is very proud of Steve Anderson’s film, and Stephen Bogart and I are confident that Shoreline is the perfect partner to make sure The White Orchid reaches the widest possible audience,” said Bogart Estate CEO de Klerk.

John Goodman has joined the cast of Rupert Wyatt's remake of 1974's "The Gambler" at Paramount Pictures. Brie Larson, Jessica Lange, Michael K. Williams and Travis Tope also star.

The Falling Snow

Rebecca Ferguson ("The White Queen") will replace Olga Kurylenko in the lead role on the spy thriller "The Falling Snow" for Enlightenment Productions. Filming begins in Belgrade on January 23rd.

Olivia Thirlby is set to investigate a brutal murder as the star of The White Orchid, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively. The noir thriller from writer-director Steve Anderson follows Claire Decker (Thirlby), a shy, part-time social services investigator working in Morro Bay, Calif. While she typically spends her working hours tracking down the relatives of elderly people who have died alone at home, her boss (Jennifer Beals) assigns her to help a local sheriff (John Carroll Lynch) solve the brutal murder of a beautiful blonde known only as The White Orchid. The film, which recently wrapped principal photography, is from Santana Films, a creative partnership between the Humphrey Bogart Estate and Anderson. It also stars Janina Gavankar (True Blood), Brendan Sexton (The Killing), Nichelle Nichols (Star Trek’s original Lt. Uhura) and Raymond J. Barry (Training Day). The film is executive produced by Bogart Estate managers Robbert de Klerk and Stephen Bogart, the son of Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. Josh Mandel and Jeff Marchelletta from Industry Standard Films are on board as producers. Los Angeles-based boutique venture capital fund Orange Equity provided financing.
