Wrong in so many ways

As a movie lover, especially Spielberg movies, avid outdoorsman of the Gulf of Mexico and someone who wanted to be a marine wildlife photographer growing up...you are obviously disconnected from reality. No one actually believes sharks are blood thirsty killers and the movie Jaws def did not have a negative effect of people's perception. Nice try. It's a movie. I can speak from experience, the Gulf of Mexico is ABUNDANT with sharks. Though I cannot speak for the waters in other countries, America could increase shark fishing and barely touch the amount of sharks. It is rare to fish in the Gulf of Mexico and not have your catch stolen by a shark numerous times in the span of one day. Please feel free to reach out to myself and I will gladly give you a real world view of sharks.

For some balance.

Stephendsullivan-85370 your review is wrong in so many ways, it is you that is disconnected from reality.

The plight of sharks in our oceans has been well documented by scientific research for decades, this is surely more valid than the personal view of one fisherman. I would suggest that you actually go and research it for yourself.

Sharks are in real trouble, for example, the Oceanic White Tip was in the 1970s one of the most common fish in the ocean. It is now on the critically endangered list and close to extinction. There are many more examples.

Sharks have an essential role in the ecosystems of the ocean, without them the ocean will go badly wrong.

Why do you think they have some protection in the Gulf Of Mexico?
