Just watched Karma-the first half had me completely hooked with its engaging setup, but the second half? Absolutely mind-blowing! The intensity skyrockets with every twist and turn, keeping you on the edge of your seat till the very end. And that background music? It's next level, elevating every scene and adding a whole new depth to the thrilling atmosphere. Plus, don't miss the post-credit scene! It's worth the wait and adds an extra layer to the story. Stay till the end for the full experience! Trust me, this is one of those films that deserves to be watched in a good theater. The visuals and sound design are best enjoyed on the big screen for maximum impact. Don't miss out on this incredible cinematic experience!
'Karma', directed by Anupam Patnaik, breathes new life into Odia cinema, presenting a mix of gripping storytelling, stellar performances, and a soundtrack that packs a punch. As a fan of Anubhav Mohanty, my excitement for this film was inevitable, but the movie transcends mere star appeal to deliver a truly engaging experience. Manas Padhiary's writing ensures that the narrative is both tight and full of unexpected turns, keeping the audience on edge until the credits roll.
Wishing Anubhav, Suryamayee, Choudhury Jayaprakash Das, Sanoj, Divya, Manmay, and Nishant immense success and accolades for their stellar performances in Karma-may this film be a milestone in your already shining careers, taking each of you to new heights of stardom and recognition!
One of the film's strongest aspects is its grounded, realistic approach, a refreshing deviation from the more fantastical elements often seen in regional cinema. The plot unravels through a series of well-crafted twists, making each development feel earned. Ashish Pradhan's background score enhances this with a South Indian flair, adding an intensity to key scenes that raises the stakes, especially in moments of high emotion. The dance numbers, meanwhile, are vibrant and catchy, already taking social media by storm and securing their place in the wider pop culture conversation. The comedy is another standout, with natural humor that feels authentic to everyday life, giving the film a relatable, lived-in quality.
However, despite these strengths, the movie stumbles a bit in the first half. The pacing before the intermission feels sluggish at times, and the central concept of karma could have been explored with a bit more finesse. The action sequences, while entertaining, could have been more meaningfully tied to the theme, showing the karmic justice at play in a deeper, more nuanced way. Scenes that linked the criminals' fates to their past wrongdoings, especially in connection to the personal lives of the police officers, could have enhanced the emotional depth. A more detailed exploration of the mystery, particularly around the murder weapon and the death it caused, might have added even more intrigue. A postmortem scene that raised doubts or added layers to the case would have been a welcome addition-perhaps something to be explored in a potential sequel, Karma II.
That being said, "Karma" is still a must-watch. Its flaws are minor compared to the larger success of the film as a whole, and I look forward to watching it again. How about you? Have you seen it yet? If not, it's worth your time!

KARMA An Odia Movie Directed By National Award Winner Mr. Anupam Patnaik And Produced By His Wife Mrs. Barsha Patnaik. The First Half Of The Movie Was Good As The Second Half Was A Madness By The Director. Movie Direction, Acting, Cinematography, Colour Grading, Editing Was Top-Notch. There Was A Scene Before Interval Which
Gives You Goosebumps For Sure. Especially The Last 40 To 45 Minutes Of The Movie Was Absolute Outclass Your Mind With It's Suspense And Thriller. A Big Clap For Anubhav Mohanty For That Badass Acting. Just OMG. Although It's A Over 2 And Half An Hour Movie But Trust Me You Never Get Bored. Kudos To The Entire Team Of KARMA For Making Such A Fabulous Movie For Us. Hope It'll Also Release In Hindi And Other Language As Well And Yes Don't Skip The Post Credit Scene. Waiting For The Next One. 😀
Just watched Karma movie!! Literally one if the Bloodiest movie in odia, I went to threater with low expectations because of now a days odia cinema is producing more flop movies, but this Karma went beyond my expectations, every frame is very important to this movie (very fast screen play) coming to performances the superstar anubhav mohanty rocked in Amar Pattnaik and rest of the cast did well and justified in their roles, music could have been better, DOP work is quite thrilling, coming to writer director Anupam patnaik he succeed in giving a direction can't wait for second part no piracy pls.
A Masterpiece in odia cinema history. Highly recommended. Anupam and Anubhav a deadly combination. The level of suspense and thriller elements throughout the movie will keep you hooked and booked. The BGM was so good which adds a cherry on the cake. Each and every character of the movie was justified properly and director have utilized them extremely well. Apart from superstar Anubhav. Jayprakash Choudhary sir have stolen the show in the Interval and climax. Lead actres Suryamayee was also good in her role as well as new upcomers like Manmay and Sanoj. The second actress Divya plays a short role but that portion was not required. Watch and support odia cinema.
