In order to help out her friend Elsa Smith (Jessica Jacoby), who happens to be the governor's daughter, Lisa Davis (Grace Woods Swanson) attends a date on her behalf and sabotage it for her, it does help that Elsa sweetens the deal by paying her $5000 which Lisa needs to pay back her sleazy ex-boyfriends, David Hughes (Matthew Vorce), debt. Unfortunately Lisa realises that her date, Alex Brown (Griffin Blazi), is actually her new CEO, thankfully she is in "disguise" and despite her very best effort to do so, he is not dissuaded by her behaviour, attire, or language at the table and instead the real Elsa receives a phone call proposing marriage straight after their date. Alex requests another date with "Elsa" which Lisa attends, where he tells her he wants the marriage ASAP, in the meantime, the Real Elsa meets Sam Bennet (Patrick Sanderson), who is Alex's assistant and is immediately drawn to him. What follows is a hilarious series of events in which Lisa tries and fails to avoid Alex, Sam judges the real Elsa for the way Lisa behaved.. so what happens when the truth finally comes out ?
Griffin Blazi plays a fantastic Alex Brown, with is quite wit, eyebrow raises and facial expressions hitting the mark every step of the way! I loved watching him as Alex and seeing him in a comedic role as we tend to see him taking on more brooding roles so this was a wonderful change of pace.
Grace Woods Swanson can do no wrong, every single vertical this girl touches is gold, I am telling you, if you want your series to be a hit, just hire her, she is absolutely hilarious in this series and the way she embraced the role and especially the first date scene as Elsa was fantastic. But the way she can also transition into the kind-hearted beautiful sweet woman we have come to see time and time again so seamlessly is incredible.
Jessica Jacoby as the Real Elsa is absolutely beautiful in this series, I particularly loved the relationship with Lisa and the beautiful side love story between her and Sam. Jess is a great talent and demonstrated this fantastically throughout this series.
Patrick Sanderson as Sam Bennet is hilarious, warm hearted and all round brilliant in this series, never missing a beat and demonstrating his talents expertly. The bond between Sam & Alex is magnificent and I loved every scene with these two together!
Another great series with such a fun story line, if you're looking for a good laugh, a bit of second hand embarrassment and a whole lot of falling in love, this is the one you need!
