Horror comedy genere

Devil's Double Next Level is a horror film with a different concept movie. Scenes featuring Motta Rajendran and the co-actors make us laugh and keep us engaged throughout. The film blends horror and humor in a unique way that adds to the overall entertainment. Watching it without any expectations allows you to enjoy the fun and surprises it offers. It's not the usual horror movie and stands out for its comic timing and performances, especially by Rajendran and for the team. DDnext level is a light-hearted horror film worth a casual watch with friends or family for a fun weekend escape from routine.

Critics get sucked into the screen in this oddball horror comedy

Excellent idea, poor execution

DD Next Level" is the fourth film in the "Dhilluku Dhuddu" franchise, which started in 2016. It's a horror-comedy, and I was happy to see a franchise film in Kollywood. In Hollywood, there are many franchises in every genre, but in Indian cinema, there are only a few and not all of them are great.

Now, about DD Next Level the biggest positive is the unique idea behind the film. It's actually a concept that doesn't usually fit with comedy, but in this case, it somehow worked naturally. The idea and the genre were clearly delivered to the audience. The film managed to hook viewers in the first 10 minutes, which is very important, especially for horror films. Actually, this applies to all films. The overall visual look of the film was also good. The writer tried different things to keep the audience engaged in new ways. But aside from that, I didn't find many other positives.

The concept was excellent and fresh for the horror genre. As I mentioned, it grabbed the audience's attention early on. But after the first 10 minutes, the film started to fall apart. I even felt tired after a while. One of the biggest positives in a good film is its characters. But here, none of the characters were well written not even the main hero. They tried to make him unique, but it didn't connect and felt very forced.

It's a horror-comedy, but you won't feel any horror throughout the film. There are a few small funny moments, but overall, the comedy also didn't work. The movie used many references to other films, and they all felt forced they didn't fit naturally. The writer also reused some old scenes from the earlier films in the franchise, but they didn't work either.

There were many unnecessary glamour scenes, and I felt the female characters were included just for that purpose. Their roles had no real importance in the story. One more personal opinion: the director cast two legendary Indian directors in this film, but completely misused them. I felt bad they were literally used as joke characters.

Overall, I didn't like the film. There's some violence, so if you're watching it with kids, make sure to follow parental guidance.

Spoiled Movie

Even the makers of this film would rate it 1/10 after watching it. Tye storyline seems to be inspired from a 2 year old child folk. Acting is pathetic. One guy keeps saying 'Bro' 4 times in every dialogue which is irritating. Non sense story and acting. The writer and the director seems to be from high school.

You'll find a random YouTube documentary amd some random YouTube horror story better than this film. One should not have the courage to release these kind of films in theatre. Instagram reels and YouTube shorts have betyer contente than this film for real.

Appealing the makers please withdraw this film.

'Dillukku Duddu' Franchise - Episode: Cinema & Critics

#DDNextLevel is a fantasy horror comedy that cleverly explores cinema, movie reviewers, and film critique. The screenplay is structured with three intricate layers-a movie within a movie, a flashback within that, and within one layer, three distinct chapters. The approach is commendable for introducing fresh concepts to the 'Dhillukku Duddu' franchise while completely steering away from insult-based (body shaming) comedy.

Instead, the film effectively embraces sarcastic humor, expressive body language, and slapstick comedy, which lands well in many instances. Santhanam bro subtly tweaks his signature timing and body language, delivering a solid performance. The supporting cast, too, delivers their best. Technically, the film is well-crafted, though excluding the 'Govinda Govinda' song feels like a drawback, as it encapsulates the essence of the movie's plot concisely.

A great effort overall-the film resonates strongly with cinema enthusiasts, who will find its use of industry-specific terms engaging and intriguing. However, the general audience may struggle slightly to grasp the layered narrative, making it an average watch for them. Nevertheless, it successfully entertains everyone, especially kids, with laugh-out-loud moments. Kudos to the entire team.

Looking forward to more exciting films under this franchise! 'Dhillukku Duddu' is truly a signature brand for Santhanam Anna.

Really fun and enjoyable

"DD next level" is a fun ride! It's got the right mix of comedy and intelligence, with some great performances. If you're looking for a lighthearted, entertaining film, this one's worth a watch. The cast, particularly the lead actors, delivered strong performances that added to the film's enjoyment. Overall, "DD Returns"(DD next level) is a fun, entertaining, and Enjoyable film that will leave you eagerly anticipating what's next. With its talented cast, engaging storyline, and perfect blend of comedy and using cinema knowledge, it's a must-watch for anyone looking for a good cinematic experience.

Great concept, could have done wayy better

DD Next Level had expectations due to its predecessor, DD Returns. This one has a really good idea and the makers could have done a meta commentary instead of relying on fart jokes. Although the movie isn't boring, it does not have anything to hook you up until the end. Mottai Rajendran's comedy at the climax gives a chuckle in the end of an extremely underwhelming movie. Santhanam's repeated use of the word "Bro" is irritating aswell.

GVM and Selvaraghavan did their parts well. The glamour is borderline vulgar and makes us question whether kids are supposed to watch this 'family entertainer' as well.

Santhanam really needs to choose scripts like DD Returns(although the franchise is now suffering) or even like a one-time watchable film like Vadakkupatti Ramasamy which is quite an experience. Inga Naan Than Kingu is also a decent film, Santhanam could try these type of films.

A movie that wastes time without offering any purpose or even comedic enjoyment

This film is a masterclass in aimlessness, offering neither compelling storytelling nor so-bad-it's-good charm. The pacing is glacial, the characters are hollow, and any attempts at humor fall painfully flat. Even as a guilty pleasure, it fails; there's no ironic enjoyment to be found, just a numbing sense of boredom.

The director seems to have mistaken meandering for depth, leaving the audience stranded in a cinematic void where nothing of consequence happens. Scenes drag on without payoff, dialogue feels like placeholder text, and the climax (if you can call it that) lands with a shrug. Rip.

Not A Boring Movie...

Another Entertaining movie by Santhanam with funny scenes and counters. The comedy felt natural and came at the right moments, and the characters got along so well that even the silly parts were fun to watch. Movie doesn't lag in any part, gives you unexpected twists. Also the story has a good ending unlike other horror/comedy movies. Aside from the laughs, the story was actually really well done. It didn't feel like just a bunch of jokes thrown together, there was a clear plot that kept me hooked from start to finish. The pacing felt just right, and there were a few small twists that made it even more fun without trying too hard to be smart or complicated. Screen space has been shared equally with all the cast. If you want something light, funny, and with a good story, this one is worth watching.

Horror comedy at its best!

#4 in the film series, DD Next Level, excels on every level! One might be tempted to think, here is a movie that will be a pleasant break from the other crime and violence films, and yet DD Next level does include a fair amount of violent scenes. It is a send up of horror and slasher movies, and it also pokes fun of movies in general. It is actually a movie within a movie. Similarities of characters in the real world jumping into a world of fantasy have been utilized in such classics as, The Wizard of Oz, and Tron. The horrific aspects here are done surprisingly well(will satisfy all horror fans), and the comedy never lets up. The entire (large) cast are a joy to watch. Add to that the superb music soundtrack and you have a movie well worth seeing! Comedy films need to be made more frequently, and this one will get the ball rolling. Of note is the ending which is very unusual and may be unique in this genre. The only change one might make is to shorten the running time a little in order to make room for a song and dance number.

Amazing blend of comedy and horror with exploration of cinema. Unique plot. Max Fun.

DD never misses!!!!!!

Horror elements little bit turned up compared to the previous film in the franchise.

Even though the comedian Santa is the peak, he never got lost in his films as a hero. He never missed the comedic timings in his films even as a hero.

He tried many different slangs in each and every film but he always scores and thats why he is permanently goated.

Comeback of Motta Rajendran after a long time and the legend nailed it.

Look at the effort he put on for a little funny sequence while being 68 years old.

Amazing film. Amazing ensemble. Innovative plot. Peak fun. Full-on entertainment. Wholesome.

Unique film about cinema.

This film has everything for its title to be " The Movie Critic ".

Must Watch Horror Comedy

Pleasant treat to Horror Comedy fans. Everyone performed well, fully packed entertainment, we enjoyed together as a family including children. Few cuts necessary to make it proper children friendly. Concept of living inside a movie with movie characters for a task to complete is very interesting and comical. Never felt boring throughout. Don't miss it. Screenplay, direction, background score, dialogues, expressions, creativity, graphics all worked up to expectation for a horror comedy movie. Kudos to entire team for this tremendous effort. We need more of these movies. Thank you... Enjoy the Movie..

Comedy and enjoyable movie

I couldn't stop laughing throughout this movie! I'm genuinely surprised it has such a low rating-it deserves way more. The film brilliantly mixes comedy, adventure, and a hilarious take on horror movie clichés. It's not just funny; it's clever in how it mocks and celebrates the genre. A total entertainer from start to finish. I 100% support this movie and would gladly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, feel-good watch with a spooky twist! I fully support this movie 100%!

I recommend this movie to others and also I am watching second time too. Worth watching. Dont miss this fun and enterainment movie.
