Sure, I was not familiar with the 2024 movie "Snowy With a Chance of Christmas" from writer John Dion and director Nicholas Humphries, but I still opted to sit down and watch it as part of my 2024 Christmas movie marathon.
Truth be told, I have to say that from the movie's cover alone, I was figuring that I would be in for an archetypical sappy Christmas movie. And sure enough, writer John Dion did indeed stay true to the how-to-write-a-sappy-Christmas-movie blueprint, for better or worse. That means that if you enjoy sappy Christmas movies, then you're in for a blast, but if you want something more than another formulaic Christmas movie then you're not going to be thrilled.
I wasn't familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie, but I will say that the acting performances were fair.
Watchable, for sure, but director Nicholas Humphries did not revolutionize the Christmas movie genre by any means.
This is not a movie that I will sit down to watch a second time.
My rating of "Snowy With a Chance of Christmas" lands on a five out of ten stars.
