There's only a handful of good submarines movies out there, and this is definitely one of the best ones. It doesn't hold up to the German classic "Das Boot", but still has plenty to offer from stunning visuals to non-stop well choreographed action.

As far as chinese war movies go, it also surprisingly restraints itself from being overly political. Unlike in similar stories like Wolf Warrior, the Chinese troops don't have the upper hand and are losing engagement after engagement initially. The US-like adversaries are anonymous mercenaries of which another rogue subgroup has split off.

This movie must have cost a fortune to make and it pays of in every way. Must see for enjoyers of war and submarine films!
