Amazing Cinematography and Story

The Chasers of Tornado Alley: Touching the Sky is one of my favorite projects I have worked on to date.

Having the opportunity to narrate this film and work with Martin and his team was definitely an honor. I'm proud to have been able to contribute to this documentary. I learned a lot about the science of tornados, supercells, and weather patterns that develop and spawn all kinds of storms.

Martin's ability to capture those amazing videos is the highlight of the film and will amaze and astound viewers.

Thanks for allowing me to be a small part of this amazing documentary. I look forward to working with Martin and his team again!

The most accurate storm chasing documentary to date

The Chasers of Tornado Alley: Touching the Sky gives the viewer an accurate, inside look into what it is really like to chase storms and to be a storm chaser. Martin Lisius, producer/director, an experienced storm chaser himself with many years of storm chasing under his belt tells the story best. TCOTA: Touching the Sky takes the viewer for a ride on a typical chase day while also discussing other topics like Tornado Alley, the forecasting process, camaraderie, and life on the road. Interviews with chasers are thrown into the mix along the way plus awesome storm and tornado footage. This is a must-see documentary for those that want the real scoop on what storm chasing is all about.

Real chasers, real film and real thrills

This beautiful film is the whole enchilada! It has drama, humor, amazing storms and a true depiction of chasers and the numerous reasons why they chase. It educates and answers those sought after questions. The flow of this documentary is well thought out and executed. It gives a sample of this interesting environment that only a few really get to experience. Doing this film in chapters gives you information on what to expect. All the chapters hold their own. The photography is breathtaking and seems to capture severe storms in a way that you do not experience on the big screen and I wish they would. Relying on fake storms you lose the true aspect of its majesty.

Easily the best documentary about storm chasing ever made

The Chasers of Tornado Alley: Touching the Sky is a story about storm chasers and the kind of storms they chase. After watching it, I know more about storm chasers than I ever knew. The film talks about the area called Tornado Alley, where it is and why tornadoes form so often there. There's a chapter on 'supercells' which a amazing type of storm that spawns the really big twisters. There's a little bit about safety and the kinds of tornadoes mentioned, and then several sections following storm chasers on actual chase days. Finally, the cinematography is amazing!!! Kudos to the filmmakers for making this awesome film. Thank you!

A Breathtaking Visit to Tornado Alley

I was bowled over by this incredible piece on so many levels! Firist, I had no idea there were so many storm chasers, e.i., people who bravely and deliberately go in the direction of these ferocious storms as opposed to running in the opposite direction as most of us would do. Then there is the cinematography of the tornados themselves. I have worked in the stock footage industry for most of my adult life and never saw any storm footage of this calibre and beauty! And I had no idea tornados came in so many different shapes and sizes and were more likely to occur in a place aptly named Tornado Alley which I didn't know existed. Then there are the colors and the beauty and the reason it's called "Touching The Sky."
