Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms

High school girl Mona Kawai is uniformly adored by her fellow pupils; that is until Medaka Kuroiwa transfers to her school. He appears to be constantly angry and refuses to even look at her; she determines that she will get him to fall for her. She doesn't realise that he is a monk in training who has forsworn love. He is troubled by the fact that he knows he is far from impervious to her charms. Somewhat inevitably a rival for his affections emerges.

I thought this series was rather fun. It may be fairly predictable but it provided a good number of laughs and the characters are likeable.... More so as the series progresses. The characters are likable, with impressive leads and fun support. There is some fan service; not much but it may be enough to offend some viewers. The animation and character designs are pretty good. Overall I enjoyed this and would recommend it to fans of the genre. I was pleased to read that there will be a second season.

These comments are based on watching the series in Japanese with English subtitles.

Very Exciting Anime I ever Seen Very Good

I really, really like Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms. From the very first episode, this anime hooked me with its fun concept and entertaining characters. The story follows Mona, a cheerful and confident girl who is used to being admired by everyone around her. But when she meets Medaka, a boy who seems completely unaffected by her charm, everything changes. This unusual setup creates so many funny, heartwarming, and sometimes emotional moments that make the anime very enjoyable to watch.

What I love the most is the balance between comedy and romance. The interactions between Mona and Medaka are hilarious but also touching, as you can see how Mona's feelings slowly develop into something deeper and more genuine. She is not just trying to make Medaka notice her anymore-she truly begins to care about him. This makes the anime feel more than just a comedy; it has real heart.

The supporting characters also add a lot of charm. Hizuki, Tomo, and others each bring their own energy to the story, making it lively and never boring. The animation is bright, colorful, and perfectly matches the lighthearted atmosphere of the show. The voice acting is also excellent, giving each character a unique personality that stands out.

Overall, I think this anime is a hidden gem. It's fun, sweet, and full of moments that make you smile. It never tries too hard but still manages to deliver a great story with lovable characters. For fans of romantic comedies, this is definitely a must-watch.

I truly hope this anime gets a second season soon. The story feels like it still has so much more to offer, and I can't wait to see how the relationship between Mona and Medaka develops further. For me, this anime is peak entertainment!

The Standard Romcom

In short: I would not recommend watching the show as it is the absolute standard ecchi highschool romcom. The story can be summarised in one sentence: Highschool romance with the super popular hot girl trying to seduce the normal guy.

The series may be for you if:
  • You havent watched highschool romcoms yet
  • Or you dont mind if this is the "template " romcom with the classic panties and chest reveal, "accidentally" falling on another, forgetting an umbrella (and then sharing), misunderstanding each other etc.

The series is not for you if:
  • You are annoyed with unnecessary fanservice
  • You want to be surprised by the storyline (Series is 100% predictable)
  • You want the ending to be open until the last episode
  • You want character depth.

Dropped it

Oversexualised for no reason, unnecessary fanservice and such basic dialogue if i handed the concept to a 5 year old theyd come back with this. The accents in the dub are horrible, and whoever made the creative decision to use heavy western accents should rethink their whole life.

If you like egotistical lewd teenage girls with every boy trying to get up their skirt go ahead and watch this, the second i saw her show her panties i knew this would be unbearable, her attempts to impress kuroiwa have only revolved around being sexual and her body, really dissapointed considering i was looking forward to watching this aswell with no prior knowledge of it.

Best skipped, lots better out there!

(12+) Poorly done, with no compelling reason for the "Queen Bee" of the class to fall for the transfer student. Also, I couldn't stand his hair style, it really grated as the series went on and he just looked stupid in my opinion. The animation was nothing to write home about, and the storyline was not executed as well as it could have been. There was just no reason for the FMC (and other females) to fall for the MMC - not one, and at least a LITTLE believability would be good. Also, he is supposed to be a "monk in training" so was constantly putting his thumb and finger between his eyes and concentrating on mantra's whenever he was tempted, and NO ONE asked him what the heck he was doing? It just made no sense and that is this anime's biggest downfall. No real resolution either! Pass on this one.
