    Pleasent over an afternoon.

Firstly, appreciation for the director on handling the script the way it should be handled.

The drama carried out between the characters was built near and no hurry there, no time wasted for songs or forcing a character arc.

    It's simple yet, conveys.

Reason for my opinion, is the expectation of watching guruji and gowtham on screen together.

Gowtham has carried the charisma from Manu, calm and mature.

Thought how the supporting cast would react on their way to the situations but it's a different approach from kanakala and Sampath.

Till the end of first half, I was guessing the obvious and I'm right but the interval changed it and I cannot guess after.

Guess, it's what kept me watch the end.

Pre climax, again becomes predictable but you can accept it once spent the time till you get there.

Fine, it's a sensitive concept, that was handled rightly, I'd suggest it for a Saturday afternoon with lunch.

A Novel Point wasted with immature writing and execution

To Begin with, Need to Appreciate the Writer & Director Nikhil for Picking such Novel Point, But What lacks is Narrative.

Rahul Yadav who is known for Picking up Good Scripts, looks like Some how got Just carried Away. Going forward atleast a demo shoot by the director, will help the producer Rahul for better judgement, which he followed for "Mali raava".

Because I Haven't expected such Poor Production values that made it just Above short film.

(Not that I'm Degrading short films, but one can understand there struggle & budgets they have for shot films, yet there are beautiful films) But when you are making feature film, atleast it should have minimum standards, especially in the current times where people are more exposed to world films .

The only positive thing was Brahmanandam garu & Vennela kishore & the Girl who played sister Charecter.

Raja Goutham tried his best, But personal felt. He wasn't explored properly especially,as theatre Artist.

I Don't say this as Negative, but what made this Film ,for tougher watch for me is.

    1. No proper Charecter Arcs.

    2. Confused Narrative.

    3. Poor Visuals 4. Editing played a bigger role, to get that lag feeling. Most of the scenes can be trimmed.

    5. Music hasn't Added up Any value.

Hoping for Better films from this Banner, since it's always backing up young talent.

Hoping thier next Venture "Vibe" from Agent athreya director will be impressive.

***Where to watch is your personal choice***

A sincere attempt at a sensitive subject

TL;DR: Watch it with elders in your family. Your parents, your grandparents. It will be a treat for them.

BrahmaAnandam is a new Telugu language movie written and directed by debutante RVS Nikhil and it stars the legendary Brahmanandam, his real-life son Raja Goutham and Vennela Kishore in lead roles. I watched this movie because of Brahmanandam. The last time I watched him in a lead role as a non-comedian was in a movie called Babai Hotel that I watched as a kid. I liked the movie BrahmaAnandam for the writer, director RVS Nikhil's sincere attempt at a sensitive subject.

Anand Ramamurthy, played by Brahmanandam lives at an old age home and his grandson Brahmanandam, played by Raja Goutham is a aspiring theater artist who needs money to get his play on the stage at a prestigious competition in Delhi. He accompanies his grandfather, rather halfheartedly and selfishly, to his village so sell some land and get that money that he desperately needs. What happens next in the village forms the rest of the story.

The subject matter that this movie deals with is sensitive. RVS Nikhil goes into the emotions of the elderly, their loneliness and their longing for companionship in a rather non-preachy way and I like it. However, his inexperience shows in handling actors like Brahmanandam to get their best performance that was necessary to convey those emotions properly. The script opens up too many subplots, which are needed, but doesn't spend enough time exploring and establishing some key relationships between characters. As a result, it could not generate the needed emotional impact. But I must say this is a sincere and honest attempt I've seen from a debutante in Tollywood in a long time. It shows.

The actors did a good job, and Vennela Kishore dominated the proceedings commendably. A surprise to me was to see Divija Prabhakar (ETV Prabhakar's daughter and Attitude Star Chandrahas's sister) take control of her character. Her timing and screen presence were impeccable. We lack strong female actors in the Telugu industry that can fill the roles of a friend, or a sister and she can be that actor. She has a bright future.

While screenplay needed a bit more finesse, editing was a letdown. Almost all the shots were cut a bit too late making it a boring ordeal at some key places. So was music. As I said, the technical crew are all new and it shows.

Despite its shortcomings, I personally liked Brahmanandam. I recommend watching this movie in theaters for the director's honesty and sincerity.

Watch it with elders in your family. Your parents, your grandparents. It will be a treat for them.
